If you know you know.🤷🏼‍♀️
Also, this is how donkeys and horses should stand for the farrier. If this menace can, anyone’s equines can.

Update to post: no this is not about a specific barn, but if the shoe fits🤷🏼‍♀️ do not message me directly regarding this. You will get the same response.

🚨 Client Notice: Strangles Outbreak (Central NH) 🚨

I want to make all of my clients aware regarding the outbreak of strangles in Central New Hampshire.

Please help protect all horses, especially my older and more vulnerable clients by being responsible and transparent.

If your horse has:
• Traveled to shows or events recently
• Had contact with outside horses
• Been exposed to or is suspected of exposure to strangles
• Is located at a barn under quarantine

You MUST notify me prior to your appointment.

I am taking biosecurity seriously by sanitizing equipment and following strict hygiene protocols between barns regardless. However, for the safety of all horses in my care, I will not be servicing barns with known exposure or under quarantine at this time.

Do not let me come to a barn with a possible exposure because “it’s not that bad of a sickness”, my almost 30 yr old already immunocompromised horse at home would tell you differently if he caught it. My backyard clients deserve to not have it at their house. I service many older or compromised horses. If you have me come and do not disclose you will be immediately fired as a client.

This isn’t personal, it’s about protecting the entire horse community and preventing further spread. Better safe than sorry.

After that blustery cold winter, and a super busy couple of months traveling around between farrier things and navy things, spring has sprung and its summer shoes season.😎🥰 Thankful for my clients that make this all worth it.

Meanwhile at today’s shoeing Bucky in the driveway,

Kids: full jungle gym mode.
Horse: applying for angel status.

This is what a good brain + consistent routine looks like.

And yes… it makes all the difference. 😉 And no, i don’t want to hear the excuses.🙃 this IS the normal.

We are having a conversation about how we need to keep our shoes on and not go Mach 10 in the pasture right now. BUT she’s back in steel after a stretch of glue ons! This week feels like a heat wave after the last couple. And I’m here for it!

✨ New Year Update ✨

With 2026 coming in hot, it’s a new year, fresh start.
Same farrier. Same standard.

I want to thank every client who continues to trust me with their horses. I don’t take that lightly. Good hoof care is the foundation of everything, and it’s something I put a lot of pride, time, and effort into every single day.

Insurance costs more.
Steel costs more.
Fuel costs more.
Experience and continuing education still aren’t free.

Because of that, there will be a small price increase on shoeing services starting January 1, 2026. Also, ALL prices reflect cash or check. A 3% processing fee applies to non-cash payments, including credit cards, venmo, and any electronic payments.

The goal has always been (and will continue to be) sound, comfortable horses and honest, consistent work. I truly appreciate the clients who understand the value of proper hoof care and support a small business built on thriving to learn, gaining experience, reliability, and showing up every day.

Here’s to another year of strong feet, good horses, and doing things the right way. 🐴🔨🔥

The greatest teachers wear gray hairs and soft eyes.

Losing our 32 year old family horse recently has had me thinking a lot about the older retirees I care for, the horses who spend their days being the safe, steady ones for little hands and big firsts. Our horse touched so many lives in the 20 years we had him. He gave pony rides to friends, first rides to kids, and carried us through miles and miles of memories, lessons, and quiet moments that shaped who we are.

These older horses are the ones who may need extra maintenance, special care, or groceries that cost more than yours but they are worth every bit of it. We owe it to them. Their old souls, shaped by a lifetime of experience, are patient, gentle, and kind as they guide the next generation of horse lovers.

This is Delores, better known as “Lolo” to her little friend, doing what she does best, teaching without words. 🐴💛
