This National Veterinary Technician Week, we're celebrating the incredible Associates who make our hospitals thrive — like Karen, who began as a CSR and never stopped growing and like Joanne, who sought mentorship and support to obtain her VTNE.

At VCA, we're proud to champion our veterinary technicians every step of the way — offering mentorship, encouragement, and the resources to help you reach your full potential.

To every vet tech in our VCA family: thank you. What you do matters deeply — to our teams, to our patients, and to the pet owners who trust us with their most beloved companions.

Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

Before you hit the road with your furry friend, make sure they're ready for a safe and stress-free ride! 🚗🐾

Some pets love car rides, while others may feel anxious or uncomfortable during travel. To help make the journey more enjoyable, here are a few tips:

Take short practice drives before longer trips.
Bring their favorite blanket or toy for comfort.
Make sure they're safely secured with a pet seatbelt or carrier.
Plan for water and potty breaks on longer drives.

If your pet experiences travel anxiety, medication may be an option to help them relax. We do offer travel-anxiety medications when appropriate, but your pet must be examined by one of our veterinarians first.

Schedule an appointment today to see if your pet qualifies, and let's help make your next adventure together as comfortable as possible! 🐶🐱💙

Safe travels! ✨

☀️ IMPORTANT REMINDER THIS SUMMER! 🐾

We want you and your pet to enjoy the beautiful weather, but it's important to stay safe in the summer heat.

🌡️ Pets can suffer from heat stroke, which can become life-threatening if not treated quickly.

Help keep your furry friend safe by following these simple tips:
🐶 Provide plenty of fresh, cool water.
🌳 Make sure they have access to shade.
🚶 Walk your pet during the cooler hours of the morning or evening.
🚗 Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
🌡️ Avoid hot pavement—it can burn their paws.
❤️ Watch for signs of heat stroke, including excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse.

If you think your pet is experiencing heat stroke, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of water, and contact your veterinarian immediately.

Stay safe, stay cool, and enjoy a fun summer with your four-legged family members! 🐾☀️

🇺🇸🎆 The 4th of July is right around the corner! 🎆🇺🇸

While we enjoy the celebrations, fireworks can be very stressful for our dogs and cats. Loud noises, bright lights, and unfamiliar activity can cause anxiety in many pets.

If your pet struggles with noise anxiety, we also offer FEAR FREE MEDICATIONS to help keep them calm and comfortable.

📞 Feel free to schedule an exam with us to see if your pet qualifies for fear-free meds and to create a plan before the holiday arrives.

Let’s keep everyone safe and stress-free this Independence Day! ❤️🤍💙
