For all of you that recently got a puppy from me

Puppy Vaccine Schedule

6–8 Weeks

* DHPP / DAPP
Protects against:
* Distemper
* Hepatitis/Adenovirus
* Parvovirus
* Parainfluenza
* Optional depending on risk:
* Bordetella (kennel cough)

9–12 Weeks

* 2nd DHPP/DAPP booster
* Leptospirosis (often started at this age)
* Optional:
* Lyme vaccine (common in wooded/tick-heavy areas like WV)
* Canine influenza

12–16 Weeks

* 3rd DHPP/DAPP booster
* Rabies vaccine (required by law)
* 2nd Leptospirosis booster
* Optional:
* 2nd Lyme vaccine

16–20 Weeks

Some vets give:

* Final DHPP booster if puppy started vaccines very early
* Influenza booster if using that series

After Puppy Series

1 Year Old

* DHPP booster
* Rabies booster
* Lepto booster
* Lyme booster if used

Then many vaccines move to every 1–3 years depending on vaccine type and your vet’s protocol.

Important Tips

* Avoid dog parks/public pet store floors until puppy vaccines are complete.
* Parvo can survive in soil and grass for months.
* Keep puppies on a deworming schedule too — usually every 2 weeks until about 12 weeks old.
* Start flea/tick prevention early, especially in wooded/rural areas.

For your area in West Virginia, I’d strongly consider:

* Lepto
* Lyme
because of wildlife, standing water, and ticks.

* Goldens have “soft mouths,” meaning they can carry fragile objects gently without damaging them.
* They’re famous for loving water. Many Goldens will happily swim any chance they get.
* Their coat is actually water-resistant and helps protect them in cold lakes and rainy weather.

Golden Retriever updates: puppies are all doing amazing, mama has already started weaning them and they are eating solid food with no difficulties.

The Puppy visit/vaccination is scheduled for May8th for those that have gotten pups please PM for arrangements on pickup.
