🌡️ If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws!

When the air temperature is 90°F, asphalt can reach temperatures over 140°F—hot enough to cause burns in less than a minute.

Try the 7-Second Rule:
Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If you can’t comfortably hold it there for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for your pet.

Tips:
🐾 Walk on grass whenever possible.
🐾 Exercise early or late in the day.
🐾 Consider dog booties for sensitive paws.

🔥 Extreme Heat Warning This Week! 🔥

Did you know that dogs and cats can suffer from heat stroke in just a matter of minutes?

Signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke include:
🐾 Excessive panting
🐾 Drooling
🐾 Weakness or collapse
🐾 Vomiting or diarrhea
🐾 Bright red gums
🐾 Difficulty breathing

To keep your pets safe:
✅ Walk early in the morning or late in the evening.
✅ Always provide fresh water and shade.
✅ Limit outdoor exercise.
✅ Bring pets indoors during the hottest parts of the day.
✅ Never leave pets in a parked vehicle—even for a few minutes.

If your pet is showing signs of heat stroke, move them to a cool area and seek veterinary care immediately.
