🐾 We thought we would re-introduce ourselves! 🐾
We are TLC Retrievers, located in Four Oaks, North Carolina. We were previously located in Pikeville, North Carolina. Three years ago, we made the decision to sell our place in Pikeville, NC and purchase about 35 acres in Four Oaks, NC. We wanted our dogs to have plenty of room to run, train, and hunt, and we wanted our boys to be able to walk right out the back door and go duck hunting whenever they wanted during hunting season. 🦆 Of course, the name TLC Retrievers comes from our boys Tucker, Logan, and Cooper. They are the heart behind the name and the reason we do what we do. Amanda and Terry are just the ones behind the scenes, funding everything and helping our boys live out their dreams. We have been breeding Labrador Retrievers for 20 years, and we have been heavily involved in the hunt test world for the past 11 years. Our oldest, Logan, started running hunt tests with his dog, Thunder. Shortly after that, Cooper decided he wanted to get involved in running dogs too. He ran his very first hunt test at only 8 yrs old with his first dog, Betty, and they have been hooked ever since! Cooper was 9 years old, and Betty was just 1½ years old when they passed their first master test. Watching these two grow, learn, and work together has been such a special part of our journey. They love hunting, training dogs, and running dogs for titles. Tucker is a little different, he enjoys sitting back and playing with the puppies. 😂🐾 Our boys are also avid duck hunters, and through hunting, hunt tests, our dogs, and our puppies, we have been blessed to build so many friendships and lifelong bonds along the way. We often get asked, “How many dogs do you have?” Our response is always, “Can you really ever have too many dogs?” 😂🐾 We have quite a few dogs around here because once a dog becomes part of the family that’s it, they stay. We don’t simply rehome our dogs because they can no longer be part of our hunting program, competing program, or breeding program. Once a dog retires from whatever their job was with us, they get to spend the rest of their life being spoiled, usually laying in a dog bed or stretched out on the couch, whichever they prefer. We could never imagine giving up one of our animals after we have been their whole world. They become our world too, and they are family. When you get a puppy from us, you’re getting more than just a puppy, you’re getting a lifetime of support. Whether you need tips on training, help finding the right trainer, guidance as your puppy grows, or even an invitation to come out to our property and run dogs and train with us, we’re always here to help. Our relationship with you doesn’t end when your puppy leaves our home. We truly want to watch these puppies grow, succeed, and become everything you hoped they would be. We are so incredibly grateful for each and every person who has supported TLC Retrievers along the way and to those who continue to support us. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you.
TLC Retrievers: family, dogs, hunting, and a whole lot of love. 🐾🦆🖤💛🧡🤎
