It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Wendy, our beloved lesson horse and barn queen. She was well-loved by hundreds of kids and adults alike. The greatest horses leave us with short tails, and Wendy was no exception. We find solace in the knowledge that she was loved by so many until the very end, and her legacy at Pennington will never fade. We are all better off for having had the chance to love and be loved by her.

With Wendy’s retirement, we find ourselves looking for a saintly small horse or pony to step into her role to teach beginner students. If you know anyone who would be willing to lease or sell something that might fit this role, please reach out. Our horses are the heart and soul of our community, and we can promise that they would receive the absolute best care and all the love that a saintly teacher deserves.

The day has come to officially welcome our favorite barn queen into retirement. If you’ve ever been to Pennington, you know Wendy. She’s everyone’s first ride, first greeter, and best nosey grandma. Come celebrate her with us on August 1st at a drop in from 9-11 with some snacks, favorite Wendy stories, and a Photo Booth with one of the best horses we know. All are welcome!
