🐾🦴🐕 update that Hazel has found her new family 🐕🦴🐾
This sweet girl just graduated from puppy bootcamp. The owner decided that she didn’t want her. We are looking for a foster with potential adopt. She comes with all the things.
She truly is an amazing puppy. I would take her if I could.
This is what the owner told the rescue.
Hi Tracy,
I’m so sorry to be writing this message. This has been a difficult decision for us because Hazel is truly an amazing dog, and we love her. She is sweet, affectionate, smart, and has brought a lot of joy to our home. However, despite how wonderful she is, we’ve realized that this may not be the right time or situation for our family to have a dog.
As I mentioned before, neither my husband nor I have ever had a dog, so this has been a much bigger adjustment than we anticipated. During the day, Hazel is absolutely wonderful. She is doing great, and aside from the normal challenges of having a puppy, she is honestly not much trouble at all.
The biggest challenge has been at night. She is not comfortable sleeping alone in another room, and I don’t currently have the energy to go through sleep training. Keeping her in our bedroom, which is what we have been doing, has been affecting my sleep.
I want you to know that we are committed to doing what is best for Hazel. I do not want to bring her back to the shelter, and we are happy to keep her with us until a new family is found. We would also be happy to send her with everything we have purchased for her, including her crate, food, toys, and other supplies. We also do not expect the new family to reimburse us for the adoption fee we paid.
I feel really sorry about this decision because Hazel is such a special dog, and we want to make sure she goes to a family who is the right fit and can give her everything she deserves.
Please let me know what I can do to help with her rehoming process. We truly want to make this transition as easy and positive as possible for Hazel.
Thank you so much for understanding.
