This is Lotus. The second picture was taken by a Fort Worth Animal Care and Control officer where Lotus was found. Lotus had obviously not been cared for adequately even before she was discarded like an empty soda can.

Lotus is over at our partner hospital getting a diagnostic and treatment plan.

We have attached a fundraiser to this post. Lotus’ care is not dependent upon your donation, as it is already part of our general medical budget. But, if Lotus’ story has touched your heart, please consider donating as your donations allow us to say yes to the next Lotus.

⚠️ Content warning: This video contains graphic images of animal injuries.

A Fort Worth Animal Care and Control officer found this dog on someone’s porch, covered with doormats. He had a terrible embedded collar injury around his neck and was covered in ticks.

A cruelty investigation is ongoing. We’re focused on getting him the medical care he needs.

Today is North Texas Giving Day, and we’re asking for your help so Animal Hope can continue to say yes to animals in medical need.

Every time we say yes, we’re committing to the care that follows. Your donation helps us keep that commitment. ❤️

Please consider giving today. The donation link is in the first comment.

(Graphic images in comments) There are times when animals come to you in truly shocking condition. This dog, who we named Freedom, was transferred to us by Fort Worth Animal Care and Control with a horrific embedded collar injury and covered in ticks.

When I asked a member of Fort Worth’s outbound team if he had been found as a stray I was told “Owner released him to us. He was on their porch under some door mats they laid on top of him.”

That’s a sad state for any living thing to find itself in.

We have attached a fundraiser to this post. Freedom will receive medical care regardless, as it is already a part of our operating budget. If Freedom’s situation has touched your heart and you donate it will help us say yes to the next Freedom.
