Glamour Paws

Glamour Paws Located near the heart of TCU, our Fort Worth boutique has been serving all breeds of cats and dogs since 1996.

Charlene has always had a passion for working with pets. Starting her career working with PetsMart in 1995, she quickly realized that she had a natural talent for pet grooming. In 2002, she joined Glamour Paws as the manager with a dream of someday being able to open her own grooming business. After many years of honing her skills and helping run a successful business, she took the leap and started

C.R Paws Mobile Grooming. The business was an instant success and she quickly established C.R. Paws Mobile Grooming as the premier mobile grooming business in Fort Worth. After many years of managing Glamour Paws and running C.R Paws, She and her husband Jason were able to purchase Glamour Paws in 2013 with the goal of growing the business and providing a great place to work for many years to come. Training Tip Thursday!
“Find it” is one of the easiest enrichment games you can teach.

Toss a treat, say “Find it!” and let your dog search using their nose.
Sniffing is calming, engaging, and incredibly rewarding for dogs.

Training Tip Thursday!

Mental exercise matters just as much as physical exercise.

Hide treats in a muffin tin and cover each hole with a tennis ball.
This simple puzzle works your dog’s brain and helps burn off excess energy.

Remember, mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise!

Today, we honor the courage, loyalty, and sacrifice of our nation’s K9 veterans. These highly trained dogs have served alongside military and law enforcement personnel, protecting lives, detecting danger, and carrying out missions with unwavering dedication.

National K9 Veterans Day is a reminder that service comes in many forms — and that bravery isn’t defined by words, but by action.

We are grateful for the working dogs who have served and the handlers who stand beside them. 🇺🇸🐾

Training Tip Thursday!

A reliable recall isn't optional; it's essential.

When you call your dog to you with the cue of "Come", your dog should think, "Yes"! Best idea ever!

Set them up for success by starting where they can win.
Practice in a low-distraction space first. (indoors works well!)
Say their name once, then your recall cue.

When they come to you?
Reward with high value treat immediately!

Reminder: If “Come” always means bath time, nail trims, or park time is over...your dog might begin to hesitate when called.

Training Tip Thursday!
Don’t wait for perfection.
Any moment the leash is loose → mark it with (“yes!”) and reward.

Showing what to do beats telling what not to do. Be patient and consistent. Every walk comes with learnings and a chance to bond.

Training Tip Thursday!
Strengthen your dog’s attention by teaching them that their name is important.

Try this today:
👂 Say your dog’s name once
👀 When they look at you — even a quick glance —
🍪 Reward immediately!

You’re teaching your dog:
“Name = Check in with my human.”
This one skill lays a strong foundation for focus and trust.

Training Tip Thursday!
Short and sweet always wins. Dogs learn best in 3–5 minute training sessions — long enough to learn, short enough to stay focused.

Pro tip:
✨ Always end on a high note!
Ending sessions on a win keeps training fun and builds confidence for both ends of the leash.

Try 2–3 micro sessions throughout the day for the best results!
