What is the FVRCP vaccine, and why does your cat need it?🐾

FVRCP helps protect cats against three contagious diseases:

🦠Feline Herpesvirus (FHV-1) – Causes respiratory illness and spreads through saliva, eye/nasal discharge, and direct contact with infected cats.

🦠Calicivirus (FCV) – Can cause sneezing, respiratory illness, and painful mouth ulcers. It spreads through saliva, nasal/eye discharge, and contaminated objects or surfaces.

🦠Panleukopenia (FPV) – A highly contagious and potentially deadly virus that spreads through infected f***s and contaminated surfaces, objects, hands, and clothing.

Think your pet doesn’t need flea & tick prevention? Let’s clear up a few common myths!

❌ MYTH: “My pet is mostly indoors, so they don’t need prevention.”
✅ FACT: Fleas and ticks can make their way inside on people, other pets, or wildlife. Even indoor pets can be exposed!

❌ MYTH: “I’ve never seen a flea or tick on my pet.”
✅ FACT: Not seeing them doesn’t mean they’re not there. Fleas can be difficult to spot, and a single bite can cause itching or trigger flea allergy dermatitis.

❌ MYTH: “Fleas are just annoying.”
✅ FACT: Fleas can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, anemia, and can transmit parasites. Ticks can transmit serious diseases, too.

❌ MYTH: “I only need prevention during the summer.”
✅ FACT: Fleas can survive year-round, especially in warm indoor environments, while ticks can be active whenever temperatures allow.

🩺 Prevention is easier—and safer—than treating an infestation or a preventable disease. Talk with your veterinarian about the flea and tick prevention that’s right for your pet!
