Pet Fact of the Week! 🐕

Did you know that a dog's sense of smell is up to 100,000 times stronger than ours?
Dogs have around 300 million scent receptors in their noses, compared to about 6 million in humans. That's why they're so amazing at finding lost items, detecting medical conditions, and even helping in search-and-rescue missions!

Next time your pup stops to sniff every blade of grass on your walk, remember—they're gathering information about the world in a way we can barely imagine.🌳🐶

What's the funniest thing your pet has ever stopped to investigate? Share in the comments!

🐾Why Heartworm Prevention Is Important

Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition that is transmitted through mosquito bites. Once infected, pets can suffer damage to the heart, lungs, and blood vessels, often before any symptoms are noticeable.🦟

Fortunately, heartworm disease is highly preventable with routine monthly prevention and annual testing.

🔸Protects against a potentially fatal disease
🔸Helps avoid costly and intensive treatment
🔸Supports your pet’s long-term health and well-being

Year-round heartworm prevention is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your pet. If you have questions about your pet’s prevention plan, our team is happy to help.🐶🐱

☀️🐾Hot summer days can be dangerous for pets!

Sidewalks, roads, turf, and sand heat up quickly and can burn sensitive paws. A good rule: if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws! Try walks early in the morning or later in the evening.

Watch for signs of heat stroke:
🔹Excessive panting
🔹Drooling
🔹Weakness or vomiting
🔹Bright red gums or collapse

Always provide fresh water, shade, and avoid leaving pets in parked cars — even for a few minutes.

Help keep your furry friends safe, cool, and comfortable all summer long! ☀️❤️

🐾 Understanding UTIs in Dogs 🐾

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a common health issue in dogs and can cause discomfort if left untreated. While some symptoms may seem minor at first, early detection is important for keeping your pet healthy and comfortable.

Signs your dog may have a UTI include:
• Frequent urination
• Accidents in the house
• Straining to urinate
• Blood or strong odor in urine
• Excessive licking
• Increased thirst or discomfort

If you notice any of these symptoms, we recommend scheduling an exam with your veterinarian. UTIs can often be treated successfully with medication, but untreated infections may lead to more serious complications.

Keeping your pet hydrated, providing regular potty breaks, and staying up to date on wellness exams can help support urinary health. 💚

If you have concerns about your pet’s urinary health, our team is here to help!

☀️Summer Heat Safety Tips for Pets☀️
Texas heat is no joke and our furry friends can overheat much faster than we do!🐾
🚨Here are a few ways to keep your pet safe this summer🚨
🐕Alway provide fresh cool water🌊
🌳Limit outdoor time during the hottest parts of the day
🚓Never leave pets in a parked car- Even for a minute
🐾Walk pets early morning or later in evening
🔥Test pavement with your hand before walks to protect paw pads
⚠️Brachycephalic (flat faced) breeds like Bulldogs, Frenchie's, pugs and Boston Terriers are especially at risk for overheating because they have a harder time cooling down🧊These pets should be monitored closely in hot weather and avoid excessive outdoor activity

🚦Remember: if it is too hot for you, it's probably too hot for them too!

🐾 Curious Cat Facts You Might Not Know! 🐾
Think you know everything about your feline friend? Think again! 😺
✨ Cats can’t taste sweetness! Unlike humans and dogs, cats don’t have the receptors needed to detect sweet flavors.
✨ A cat’s purr isn’t just a sign of happiness—it may also help promote healing and reduce stress.
✨ Cats sleep 12–16 hours a day… honestly, we’re a little jealous. 💤
✨ Those adorable whiskers are more than decoration! They help cats measure spaces and navigate in the dark.
✨ Cats are experts at hiding illness, which is why regular veterinary checkups are so important.
Even the most independent kitties count on us to keep them healthy, happy, and thriving. ❤️
📅 If it’s been a while since your cat’s last visit, give us a call—we’d love to see them!

🎉🐾 Cinco de Mayo Safety Tips for Your Furry Fiesta Friends! 🐾🎉

It’s time to celebrate, but don’t forget to keep your pets safe while the fiesta is in full swing!

🌮 Skip the spicy snacks: Foods like tacos, onions, garlic, and anything spicy can upset your pet’s tummy (or worse!).
🍹 Watch the drinks: Alcohol is a big no for pets—keep those margaritas out of reach.
🎊 Decor safety: Streamers, confetti, and small decorations may look like toys but can cause choking or tummy troubles.
🏡 Secure spaces: With guests coming and going, make sure your pet has a calm, safe place to relax and avoid sneaking out.

Let’s keep tails wagging and celebrations safe this Cinco de Mayo! 🐶🐱💚❤️

Have a fun and pet-friendly fiesta! 🎉

Eight tiny bodies, sixteen floppy ears, and countless tail wags later… we’re officially in puppy heaven! 🐾💕

Momma did an amazing job, and all eight babies are growing strong, healthy, and full of personality. We’re so honored to be part of their very first chapter in life!

Fun fact: Dachshunds may be small, but they’re known for their BIG personalities and brave hearts!

Help us shower these little ones with love—drop pictures of your dachshund pups in the comments! 🐶💬
