With their striking eyes, fluffy coats, and big personalities, Huskies are hard to miss!🩵💙

🐾 A few fun Husky facts:

🏃Born to run: Huskies are energetic working dogs who need plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation.

🐾Paw Pad Care: Don’t Forget Those Little Paws!🐶🐱

Your pet’s paw pads do a lot of work! From daily walks to outdoor adventures, they deserve a little extra TLC❤️

🐾Watch for these signs:

* Dry, rough, or cracked paw pads
* Redness, swelling, or irritation
* Excessive licking or chewing at the paws
* Limping or sensitivity when walking

💡Tips for Healthy Paws:
🐾Avoid hot pavement and rough surfaces that can cause irritation or burns.
🐾Check paws regularly for cuts, debris, or cracks.
🐾Use a pet-safe paw balm when appropriate to help with dryness.
🐾Keep paws clean and dry, especially between the toes.

⚠️When should you call your vet? Deep cracks, bleeding, swelling, persistent licking, or limping should be checked by your veterinarian. Avoid using human lotions or creams unless your vet says they’re safe for your pet.

🐱🐰Plot Twist: The Pet Carrier Isn’t the Enemy!🐾

Does your pet disappear the second the carrier comes out? You’re not alone!😅

For many pets, the carrier predicts a stressful car ride or an unfamiliar place. But what if it became just another part of their everyday environment?

💚Try making the carrier a happy place!
🐾Leave it out at home instead of storing it away.
🛏️Add familiar bedding or a favorite blanket.
🦴Offer treats, toys, or meals near it, then gradually inside it.
⏳Let your pet explore at their own pace—never force them inside as part of the process.

For cats, rabbits, and other small mammals, getting comfortable with their carrier can make future travel and veterinary visits less stressful. Even dogs can benefit from positive crate and travel training!

The goal? Make the carrier a safe, familiar space—not a warning that something scary is about to happen.💚

This week has brought quite a few new friends to our hospital!🐾

Sushi🍣 - the beautiful girl was super curious but found the list comfort right on her mom’s shoulder

Stella and Winston👑🎀 - these pups were a little nervous about being with their new families and seeing the vet for the first time but they ended up doing great! With lots of love, patience, and treats they started to feel more comfortable!

Coffee Bean☕️ - now I know he looks angry but I promise that’s just how most Maine C***s look😂! He might have been shy but he was still very sweet❤️

If your dog or cat gets anxious when the thunder starts, you’re not alone. Loud noises, changes in air pressure, lightning, and even the sound of rain can cause fear and stress.

Here are a few ways to help your furry family member feel safer:
🐶Create a safe space: Choose a quiet, comfortable area where your pet can retreat. Add their favorite bed, blanket, or toy.
🎵Mask the noise: Try calming music, white noise, or a TV to help soften the sounds of thunder.
🧘Stay calm: Pets often take cues from us. Keep your own behavior relaxed and reassuring.

🍂Be cautious around decorations — Candles, cords, small decorations, and seasonal plants can pose risks if pets decide to investigate.
