🐱Happy Hug Your Cat Day from FWAEH!🐱

Today is all about showing your feline friends a little extra love—but remember, cats are the masters of letting us know exactly what they do (and don't) enjoy!

If your cat loves hugs, you'll probably know it. They may lean into you, purr, headbutt, or even drool a little while soaking up the affection. But not every cat is a hugger. Some will try to escape, push away, swish their tail, flatten their ears, or give other signs that they're ready for their personal space back.

A good rule of thumb: if your cat struggles or seems uncomfortable, respect their boundaries and let them go. Trust us, they'll appreciate it.

Not a fan of hugs? No problem! Many cats prefer gentle chin scratches, brushing sessions, treats, or simply spending quiet time with their favorite humans.

Texas heat can become dangerous for pets faster than most people realize. Hot pavement, high temperatures, and even short periods outside can quickly lead to heat exhaustion or heatstroke.

🐾 A few important reminders:
• Never leave pets in a parked car
• Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening
• Test pavement with your hand before walks
• Always provide fresh water and shade
• Watch for signs of overheating: excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse
