Our handsome Hank (WayMaker Honkeytonk Man) got his Wisdom Panel results back, and we couldn’t be happier! 🤍🧬

Hank came back clear for the genetic health predispositions tested, and his results showed higher-than-average genetic diversity—something we intentionally value as we plan for the long-term health and diversity of our program.

And then came the really fun part… what’s hiding underneath that gorgeous white coat! 👀

Genetically, Hank is chocolate-pointed, and he also carries cinnamon, dilute, AND the long-coat variant. 🤎🤍

That long-coat gene opens up some pretty exciting possibilities for WayMaker down the road. With the right future pairing, we could potentially see Oriental Longhair babies—or even longhaired pointed babies (Balinese) in our future. 😍

There’s so much more to a white cat than what you can see on the outside! Genetics never cease to amaze us, and we’re incredibly excited about what Hank may contribute to the future of WayMaker Orientals & Siamese. 🧬🐾

We’re often asked, “Where am I on the waitlist?” and the answer isn’t always as simple as giving someone a number because our waitlist isn’t strictly first come, first served.

We do keep track of when each family joins, and we try very hard to work within the estimated timeframes we provide before someone ever places a waitlist deposit. However, we think of our waitlist families as being first in line for hopefully the perfect fit for their family, rather than simply first in line for the next available kitten.

Every home is different, and some families are looking for something very specific. We take into consideration the temperament and personality they’re hoping for, their lifestyle and schedule, children or other people in the home, current pets, previous breed experience, and even how much companionship and interaction a particular kitten may need. Gender or color preferences may also narrow the possibilities.

Because of that, someone who has been waiting longer may choose to pass on a particular kitten because it isn’t what they’re looking for, or we may feel that a kitten’s personality simply isn’t the best fit for that home. We never want a family to feel pressured to take a kitten just because it’s “their turn,” and we also won’t place a kitten in a home simply because that family happens to be next on a list.

When kittens are ready for placement consideration, our current WayMaker families are given first priority. After that, we work through our existing waitlist, taking both time on the waitlist and the overall suitability of the match into consideration.

If we still have kittens available after our current WayMaker families and existing waitlist have been considered, we may then open availability and begin accepting new questionnaires from interested families.

There are simply too many variables for us to say, “You’re number 6, so you’ll get the sixth kitten.” Our goal is to stay as close as possible to the timeframe we originally provided while making thoughtful, responsible matches.

Ultimately, joining our waitlist means you’re giving us the opportunity to help find the right WayMaker kitten for your family—not simply the next WayMaker kitten available. ❤️

Our solid white Hank and solid black Gabby may look like complete opposites, but these two are quickly becoming the best of friends. 🥹

Just over 4 weeks old! 🤍🐾
Trying to capture the true coloring of these babies in photos is hard enough… getting them to actually sit still AND strike the perfect pose? Nearly impossible. 💫 Their colors are really starting to develop now, and somehow they’re even prettier in person. But at this age, they have places to go, siblings to tackle, and absolutely zero interest in cooperating with my photography plans. 😂

🐾 Happy Friday from Miss Gabby! 🖤 Our resident busybody, social butterfly, and professional supervisor of everyone’s business had her final kitten vaccines today! 💉😂 Naturally, Gabby was far more interested in making friends, investigating the entire room, and making sure she didn’t miss a single thing happening around her. Personal space? Never heard of it. 😂

A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful friends at Elite Veterinary Services for always taking such amazing care of our babies, supporting us, and just being the genuinely awesome people they are. We are so thankful to have you in our corner! ❤️🐾

🐾 A New Stage of Kittenhood 🐾 New mommas naturally seek out a quiet, secluded, cave-like space where they feel safe raising their babies. We provide several birthing and nesting options and ultimately let our girls tell us where they are most comfortable. Aubrey decided her perfect spot was a large soft sided show carrier in our primary bedroom, so that became the first home for her and her eight little ones. ❤️

Now, as these babies approach four weeks old, we’re entering one of those bittersweet transitions. The tiny newborn stage is ending, they’re beginning to explore more, and we’re slowly introducing solid foods. With those developmental changes comes the next stage of their environment, too.

Their world has officially gotten bigger! 🥹

We’ve expanded their safe kitten area to give them more room to move, play, explore, and learn. We’re beginning to introduce age-appropriate enrichment, different textures and soft surfaces, toys, and new sights and sounds—all gradually and intentionally so they can build confidence without becoming overwhelmed. It is open at the top so mommy can come and go as she pleases.

Their physical environment is just as important. We prioritize a healthy day/night cycle with plenty of natural daylight, comfortable soft surfaces, meticulous cleanliness, closely monitored temperatures, and safe, solid-floor spaces designed specifically for growing kittens. Our babies are never raised in or on wire cages.

Every stage is carefully adjusted as they grow, with safety, health, welfare, development, and socialization always at the forefront.

Almost four weeks old already… how does it go this fast? 🐾💕

Rarely will I post about something other than our cats here, because that is what this page is for. But with the passing of Dolly Parton yesterday, I really want to post and reflect something on the true loss that many are feeling right now. I think some of the reasons Dolly Parton was so universally loved was actually very simple: she talked about what she knew, lived what she believed, and loved people right where they were.

She came from incredible poverty and faced plenty of hardship, but she never built her identity around being a victim. She turned those experiences into songs, humor, wisdom, determination and an extraordinary amount of good.

She didn’t spend her life telling everyone else what they should think. She didn’t seem interested in division, drama or tearing someone else down to make herself taller. She knew who she was, stayed true to her faith and her values, and somehow made room at her table for just about everybody.

Dolly loved people the way I believe Jesus taught us to love people—not only the ones who looked like her, believed like her, voted like her or lived like her. People.

And maybe that’s why people from completely different walks of life could all look at Dolly and see something they loved.

She was funny without being cruel. Confident without being arrogant. Faithful without being condemning. Successful without forgetting where she came from. And generous without needing everyone to know about it.

In a world that so often rewards outrage, Dolly chose joy. In a world that wants us to pick sides, she chose people. And in a world with plenty of darkness, she just kept spreading light.

What a beautiful way to live a life. ❤️

Dream more. Learn more. Care more. Be more.

Thank you for showing us how, Dolly.
