Our Pack is growing! 🐾

We’ve had so many new faces at the Ranch this week, along with a few familiar faces making their return after some time away! ❤️

New friendships, happy reunions, living room wrestling matches, and plenty of backyard chaos. 😂 We couldn’t be happier to see the Pack growing AND welcoming old Pack pups back home.

Once part of the Pack, always part of the Pack. ❤️

People often ask me how I do this.

The easy answer is because I love dogs. But if I'm being completely honest... it's so much more than that.

After spending the last month writing the Class of 2026: Meet the Pack posts, I've found myself smiling, laughing, and even getting a little emotional. Every dog has their own story, their own quirks, their own personality. Some are loud, some are quiet. Some are goofy. Some are gentle. Some have been with me for six years, and some are just beginning their journey with the Pack.

Not a single one is "just another dog." I know who will chase a shadow instead of coming inside. I know who insists on speaking with management if the temperature isn't to their liking.

I know who dances with my daughter in the living room, who supervises my son like it's their full-time job, who screams like a pterodactyl when they're excited, and who believes butt scratches should happen immediately upon arrival.

I know who needed a friend to build their confidence, who still thinks they're a puppy even though they're fourteen, and who has overcome things in life that no dog ever should.

Every single one has left a paw print on my heart.

But there's another side to this that people don't always see. Over the years, so many of you have become so much more than clients. You've become friends. Some of you have become family.

We've celebrated new puppies together. We've laughed until we cried over your dogs' ridiculous antics. We've walked through difficult seasons of life together. We've celebrated new homes, new jobs, marriages, babies, and milestones. We've also cried together when it was time to say goodbye to beloved Pack members.

That's something I never expected when I started this journey. Woof Pack Ranch has never just been about watching dogs while their owners are away. It's about relationships.

It's about trust.

It's about building a place where your dog isn't just cared for, they're known. Where they're loved for exactly who they are, quirks and all.

To every family who has trusted me over the years... thank you. Thank you for trusting me with one of the most important members of your family. To those who have followed along, cheered us on, or are considering joining the Pack one day... thank you for being here.

And to every dog that has ever run through these gates...

Thank you for reminding me every single day why I love what I do.

Once part of the Pack, always part of the Pack.💚

Class of 2026: Meet the Pack

Last, but certainly not least, today's student: Rip!

Rip joined the Pack back in February, and holy moly, the ENERGY on this guy is unmatched. He is one genuinely happy, goofy dude who apparently came equipped with a battery that never needs charging.

Inside, Rip is wrestling with his pals, bouncing around the living room, and generally finding whatever silliness he can get himself into.

Outside?

RUN.

That's it. That's the activity.

Full-throttle zoomies everywhere. He doesn't necessarily run WITH the other dogs. He runs around them. Through them. In circles around them. And every now and then 🫣 accidentally over them.

The other pups may be playing a perfectly normal game of chase while Rip is apparently competing in his own personal NASCAR race.

He is such a character, and his goofy personality makes it impossible not to laugh when he's here. Rip may be one of our newer Pack members, but he has certainly made himself known. We can't wait to see what kind of stories this wild man gives us over the next few years!

And with that, Mr. Rip officially closes out our Class of 2026: Meet the Pack!

From the pups who have been with me for years to the ones whose stories are just beginning, I have absolutely loved getting to introduce you to some of the dogs who make this place so special.

What a class. What a Pack. 💚

Class of 2026: Meet the Pack

Today's students: Penny & Teddy

Penny and Teddy joined the Pack this past April, and I have to start this one with their owners. We pretty much hit it off during their evaluation because, LET'S GO STARS!

If you don't know, I am a huge hockey fan and a Dallas 💚 Stars freak 🌟. They joined us toward the end of last hockey season, so naturally there was plenty of hockey talk before we ever got around to the important business.

Okay, okay. Back to the dogs. 🤪

Penny and Teddy are absolute love bugs. They were a little standoffish when they first arrived, but it didn't take long before they decided we were alright and joined in the riff raff.

Teddy is our wilderness explorer. He's perfectly happy wandering around solo or joining the other explorers, nose to the ground, sniffing every square inch of the Ranch. There is important investigative work to be done, and Teddy is on the case.

Penny is our goofy little love bug. She'll happily join in the silliness with everyone else, unless my daughter is around. Then we're all chopped liver.

You'll frequently find Penny snuggled up with her in a chair or up on two legs dancing around the living room with her. Apparently my daughter has been quietly building her own Pack within the Pack.

I've absolutely loved getting to know these two over the last few months, and I'm excited for all the stories we'll have to tell about them a few years from now.

The pups are pretty great and their owners aren't too bad either. 😜

Class of 2026: Meet the Pack

Today's students: Phoebe & Pistol

Phoebe and Pistol joined the Pack almost two years ago and are two of our sleepover pups! Their owners lovingly refer to them as the "little piggies," and honestly, it fits.

Pistol is our sweet old boy who has mastered the art of getting comfortable. If there's a fluffy bed, soft blanket, or cozy spot anywhere nearby, you can pretty much guarantee Pistol will be curled up right in the middle of it. He's perfectly content to lounge around and let the youngsters handle all that unnecessary chaos.

Phoebe, on the other hand, is a pistol, pun absolutely intended.

This girl LOVES her leafy greens. Unfortunately, the leafy greens she prefers are usually attached to my landscaping and she's sneaky about it.

The second you turn your back, she's off to the nearest bush to help herself to a forbidden salad. You can't simply stand three feet away and tell her "no," either. She'll stare you directly in the eyes while continuing to chew like, "I hear you, I've just chosen to ignore you."

You have to physically go retrieve the tiny salad thief.

Once we're inside and the landscaping is safe, Phoebe is ready to bounce around and play with anyone willing to join her.

Between Pistol living his best retired life and Phoebe committing crimes against my shrubbery, these two little piggies are always a joy to have for a sleepover!

Class of 2026: Meet the Pack

Today's students: Zara & Hunter

Zara joined the Pack about six months ago, while Hunter just recently joined his sister for his very first sleepover!

Zara's journey into the Pack wasn't an easy one. She had recently been adopted into Hunter's family and was struggling with reactivity, getting into spats with Hunter, digestive issues, and being underweight. Her owner reached out hoping daycare and socialization could help.

After her evaluation, I knew she needed more help than I could provide alone but neither her owner nor I were willing to write her off.

He found a trainer who specialized in behavior, and we worked together to slowly acclimate Zara into the Pack. She was also eventually diagnosed with the cause of her digestive issues and put on a strict feeding schedule.

Fast forward six months and you would NEVER know this was the same girl.

Zara is healthy, has gained weight, and happily plays with just about every pup who comes through the gates. Watching her confidence and social skills grow has been incredible.
And now she's bringing Hunter along for the fun! He recently had his first sleepover with us, and one look at that ridiculously handsome face and we were hooked.

Not every pup comes to us ready to jump right into the Pack. Sometimes it takes patience, teamwork, and an owner willing to put in the work.

Watching it all pay off?
That's one of the best parts of what I do.
Proud of you, Zara girl!

Class of 2026: Meet the Pack

Today's student: Luke

Oh, precious Luke.

Luke is one of our senior Pack members at 14 years old, and watching him grow older has been one of the sweetest—and most bittersweet—parts of this journey.

He's reached that stage where you can see a life well lived. The gray face, the slower steps, the little quirks that come with age... they're reminders that time never stands still.

Luke, however, hasn't quite gotten that memo.

In his mind, he's still one of the young dogs.

He still tries to run. He still wants to chase. He still gets excited to be part of everything happening around him.

These days, though, his body doesn't always cooperate. He's developed a bit of a balance issue and occasionally just tips right over. It's also given him the most ridiculously adorable little head tilt when he walks. Somehow, every new gray hair and every little wobble has only made him more lovable.

Luke has been with me since my Rover days, back around 2020—maybe even before that. We've been through a lot together.

His owner also holds a very special place in my heart.

She was the incredible realtor who helped make Woof Pack Ranch possible. She knew our situation wasn't exactly... traditional. We needed someone willing to ask the weird questions, think outside the box, and tackle a deal that most people would've walked away from.

She never hesitated.

Because of her, we found the place we now call Woof Pack Ranch.

So caring for Luke has always felt like more than just watching a dog. It's been an honor to care for a family that has played such an important role in our own story.

Luke has been part of this journey for so many years, and every visit reminds me to slow down a little, appreciate the moment, and treasure every gray muzzle that walks through our gate.

We're so lucky to call Luke—and his family—a permanent part of the Pack. ❤️

Class of 2026: Meet the Pack

Today's student: Max

Many of you may remember Max from last year's Meet the Pack series.

Last year, I shared the incredible story of where he came from and everything he overcame before finding his forever family. It was a story of resilience, second chances, and a dog who refused to let his past define him. If you didn't catch it you can use the search on our page and find it.

This year...

I want to tell you about the Max we all know and love today.
The Max who believes every second spent waiting to play is a second wasted.

Drop-off with Max has very specific requirements. If I walk out to get him? Not good enough. If I'm already standing at the gate waiting when they pull in? Still not good enough.

Unless I am standing directly beside the vehicle the moment it comes to a complete stop, you can hear Max voicing his very strong opinions from inside the car. Barking, whining, fussing... he's making absolutely sure everyone knows that I am delaying the start of his very important day.

Now, his owner is also very dear to my heart. She reminds me so much of my grandma, and it's not unusual for us to get caught up talking for 30 minutes or more.

At pick-up, Max couldn't care less. He'll curl up in the back seat, take a nap, and patiently wait for us to finish our conversation.

Drop-off?

Absolutely not. The dramatic performance this dog puts on deserves an Oscar.

There is only one thing that can temporarily distract him from the injustice of having to wait another minute to play.

Butt scratches.

Not just any butt scratches...

The good butt scratches.

Max takes them very seriously. He's been known to b***y bump me hard enough to nearly knock me over until I finally give in and scratch exactly where he wants.

Only then is peace restored.

Watching Max today, you'd never guess the life he had before finding his forever family. What you see now is a happy, goofy, affectionate dog who loves his people, loves his Pack, and has absolutely mastered the art of getting exactly what he wants.

And honestly... after everything he's overcome, I think he's earned every single butt scratch. ❤️
