While only half joking, doing 'group activities' with your cats can definitely help them bond and get used to each other.
Bird watching is definitely a passive way to make it happen, but playing with them is always my recommendation!

Look how engaged he is with his owner!
Definitely was excited and a bit overstimulated in parts, but as expected for his first mall trip.
Short and successful is the goal at his age!

A 'magnet' hand is just a consistent lure with a motivator, to provide more ample motivation towards an alternative behavior in regards to reactivity.
The act of 'reacting' harshly is sometimes self-reinforcing.
Utilizing motivators to build better behaviors is key with behavioral change!

Teaching your dog how to 'settle' or be 'calm' is a skill!
One that needs to be taught and practiced.
For higher drive and 'rowdy' dogs, they may take much longer but that is perfectly normal.
Dog training is NOT a one size fits all!

It was also Shadow's first time on a long (30ft) leash!

You can tell by her body language she's still a bit hesitant, but is learning to trust her dog in these situations again!

Herding breeds are extremely handler sensitive and will amplify their reactions based on their owner's reactions.
Learning to trust the training process is essential to build confidence through their reactivity training!
