Body Block - a task performed by a Service Dog in order to create a barrier between the handler and the environment. This can help with increasing environmental awareness and creating a sense of security for their handler as well as maintaining their personal space.
Variations include an 'orbit', which involves circling around the handler.
In the video you can see my Pyrenees Service Animal performing a body block while I am at a vendor table.

One of the more 'advanced' skills, recall out of sight!

All breeds, all sizes and all ages can be trained! The key is learning how to motivate and foster trust with your pup.

I wonder if other dogs think my backyard is the "fun" dog backyard..

Am essential for Service Dogs in TX, and extremely beneficial for Service Dogs and pet dogs in so many ways!
Protection against dangerous surfaces, eg risk of glass or sharp objects, protection against heat, ways to cover and protect injuries etc.
I highly recommend cooperatively getting all four on if possible at once, or either both front or both back paws first before trying to get them to bear weight with the shoes.
Most dogs adapt far easier when both front, both back or all four paws are the same rather than one at a time.
The second part involves rewarding your dog and getting them to focus on external motivators and cues.

Nothing like a surprise skunk to show you that your training has paid off ๐Ÿ˜…
Jubilee was my biggest concern as she LOVES to chase squirrels - something we've worked on a ton since she was younger. Alongside all her normal off leash obedience.
In hindsight, all my dogs performed amazingly (I had 5 dogs all off leash with me).
Just like I tell my clients, you train for the times you don't expect!
Also yes I was very panicked. Jubilee seemed almost embarrassed by it, like she should expect that her training was solid ๐Ÿ˜‚

While only half joking, doing 'group activities' with your cats can definitely help them bond and get used to each other.
Bird watching is definitely a passive way to make it happen, but playing with them is always my recommendation!

Look how engaged he is with his owner!
Definitely was excited and a bit overstimulated in parts, but as expected for his first mall trip.
Short and successful is the goal at his age!

Overly confident bun ๐Ÿ˜…

A 'magnet' hand is just a consistent lure with a motivator, to provide more ample motivation towards an alternative behavior in regards to reactivity.
The act of 'reacting' harshly is sometimes self-reinforcing.
Utilizing motivators to build better behaviors is key with behavioral change!
