This book means more to my family than words can say – it was dad‘s final project, decades of knowledge and passion, for these animals poured onto every page. But it’s more than just our story. Dad‘s work impacted so many people in this community and he made many lifelong friendships. This book continues dad’s legacy, sharing his knowledge and guidance.

Hi everyone! Yesterday we shared that my dad passed away and the response from this community completely blew us away. Every comment and DM means so much to us — we’ve been reading them to my mom, and she is so incredibly thankful for all your support. Thank you for making this time of grief a little bit brighter.

Today we want to celebrate my dad. He spent 45+ years pouring everything into this passion and this community. To him this wasn’t just about breeding reptiles. He was building relationships, teaching people, and doing what he genuinely loved every single day. So many of you knew him personally, learned from him, bought from him, or just crossed paths with him somewhere along the way.

If you have a memory of my dad, a story, or remember where you met him — my family would love for you to share it in the comments. And for everyone to share this post so more people who knew him get the chance to celebrate his life and honor his hard work.

John Berry, passed away on August 15th. He gave over 45 years of his life to snakes and reptiles, and to this community. It wasn’t just his work, it was who he was.

He got to finish what he set out to do before he left us, and that means more than words can say. More on that soon.

Thank you for loving him and supporting him all these years. It meant everything to him, and it means everything to us right now. 🖤🐍
