“It’s just a forest…”

Covering only 2% of the Earth’s surface, rainforests collectively across the globe are home to more than half of the world’s animal and plant species. Whether they have curved claws to help them move through the tree canopy or 200 legs to carry them across the forest floor, each life in every layer of the rainforest matters.

Swipe to travel through the rainforest and learn what types of animals occupy the different levels!

It's World Migratory Bird Day! As both native and non-native species make their way through our skies, there are several easy steps you can take to help birds along their route.
💡Turn off unnecessary outdoor lights and close curtains at night.
🔢Track the birds you see on apps or websites like eBird or .bird.id.
🐦Make your backyard into the perfect rest stop by providing high-energy food, natural cover, and water.
🪟Prevent window collisions by applying decals, soap, or tape to large panes of glass.
🍂Fort Wayne Zoo is a proud member of SAFE North American Songbirds, and by taking these small steps, you can also help save songbirds!
