Today, our family said goodbye to our beloved Moongchi, the heart and beginning of Petshion.
Moongchi crossed the rainbow bridge this morning, August 31, around 11:30 AM after living with heart disease for more than a year.
Petshion opened in February 2012, but the story really began with Moongchi. We brought him home as a 10-week-old puppy in May 2011. Wanting to find better food, healthier treats, and safer and more unique products for him is what eventually led us to start Petshion.
For more than 14 years, Moongchi was part of this journey. He was there when we opened our first Fort Wayne store, and again when we opened our Fremont store. He was part of so many events, memories, friendships, and moments with the dogs and cats we were lucky enough to meet along the way.
Moongchi had such a warm and gentle personality. He loved people, and people naturally loved him back.
We are completely heartbroken. The sadness of losing him is deeper than we can put into words.
Losing him today has left a huge hole in our hearts. But we also know he gave us something incredibly meaningful.
Because of Moongchi, Petshion exists.
And because of Petshion, we have met so many wonderful pet families, local shelters, and companies that share the same goal of helping pets live healthier and happier lives.
Moongchi, thank you for giving us the very first reason to begin this journey.
We promise to keep carrying the love that started with you and continue doing our best for the pets and families in our community.
Petshion began because we loved you, and that love will always remain at the heart of what we do.
We love you forever, Moongchi. 🤍🌈
Tomorrow, our store will be closed for the day so our family can take some time to grieve, remember Moongchi, and be together.
