Our Meet & Greet gives us an opportunity to learn about your pet's personality, daily routine, favorite things, and any special needs or instructions we should know about.

Is your dog a social butterfly who loves everyone? A little shy and in need of extra patience? Does your cat have a very particular routine? (We know they can have opinions! 😂)

It's a sweet day for a sweet treat… and if your pets are anything like ours, they probably think every snack is meant to be shared. 😂❤️ Those hopeful eyes. The curious little sniff. The way they suddenly appear the second dessert comes out. 👀

As tempting as those puppy-dog eyes can be, remember that many human desserts contain ingredients that aren't safe for pets, including chocolate and xylitol (a sweetener found in some sugar-free products).

So... why does your dog eat grass? 🌱

If you've ever watched your dog happily munching on the lawn and wondered “Why are you doing that?” LOL you're definitely not alone!

The truth is, there isn't one clear answer for every dog. Some dogs simply seem to enjoy grazing, while others may be interested in grass because they're curious, bored, hungry, or looking for something to do.

And despite the common belief that dogs eat grass because they're trying to make themselves vomit, grass-eating doesn't necessarily mean your dog has an upset stomach.

Occasional grass-eating by an otherwise happy, healthy dog isn't automatically something to worry about. But if your dog's grass-eating is sudden, excessive, or accompanied by vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, lethargy, or other changes, that's a good reason to check in with your veterinarian.

It's also worth being mindful of where your dog is grazing. Lawns treated with pesticides or herbicides, as well as areas that may contain other potentially harmful substances, aren't places you want your pup snacking.

So the next time your dog stops mid-walk for a little salad, you don't necessarily need to panic. Just keep an eye on the bigger picture

When you hand over your keys and your pet, you want to know someone isn't just rushing through a checklist

At Professional Pet Care, we know it's the little things that count:

Have you noticed your pet drinking more water than usual? Sometimes there's a simple explanation. Hot weather, more exercise, or a change in diet can all affect how much a pet drinks.

But if you notice a significant or persistent change in your pet's thirst or water consumption, it's worth paying attention to rather than simply assuming they're extra thirsty.

Other changes (e.g., more frequent urination, changes in appetite, weight changes, lower energy, or other unusual behavior) can provide important context too!

You don't need to panic over one extra trip to the water bowl. The important thing is knowing what's normal for your pet and noticing when something changes.

If you're concerned about a noticeable or ongoing change in your pet's drinking habits, your veterinarian can help determine whether there's anything that needs to be addressed.

This Monday's "Happy Client" Spotlight goes to.... (drumroll please!!!)

NESSIE!

Nessie is one of our sweet Premier Pet Retreat guests, and we’re always so happy when this girl comes to stay with us. From relaxing in her cozy space to getting plenty of attention and enjoying her time with Bri, Maya, and the other pups.. Nessie knows how to make herself right at home! We’re pretty sure she has the whole “vacation at the pet hotel” thing figured out. 😉

We love getting to know each pet who stays with us and all the little things that make them uniquely them. ❤️
