This is Jasmine! Jasmine is a beautiful Golden Retriever who lives with her human parents and her sisters Reese and Lucy who are a 7 yr old Lab, and a 4 year old Golden Retriever. Both the Golden Retrievers are Rescues, but Jasmine....well Jasmine was rescued in China.
As some know, about 10 million dog and 4 million cats (estimate) die each year in the Asian Dog meat trade. Some are family pets or strays that have been picked up and thrown into small cages. In some events causing broken limbs and trauma. They are the. Boarded on meat trucks ring transported just to sit arrive to a grim fate. Most are exhausted and dehydrated from the journey, Then must sit and watch as other dogs are beaten to death, or thrown into boiling water still alive to remove the skin. The amounts of slaughtered dogs have gone down in recent years Thanks to activists and other organizations who raid trucks, and dog farms to rescue these beautiful creatures.
Jasmine was one of the few who were rescued on a meat truck in China along with her litter of Puppies. I got to walk her today and she is such a sweetheart! Super friendly, calm and just has the warmest greeting! Really was a great experience meeting her and seeing how happy she was and how much she is loved even with all the things she must have seen in her life.
