We are looking for some animal lovers to join our team! Hiring dog walkers and pet sitters in the Fort Washington area. Ideal candidate will live within a 10 mile radius of Fort Washington, Md. Must be able to pass background check for insurance purposes. Must be responsible and able to walk in all types of weather. Employees visit client homes to perform dog walks and pet sitting tasks so a vehicle and phone with internet access is a must. Part time to start with potential to go full time. Randy and Rufus found a yellow jacket nest. It was not a fun adventure. They marked Rufus with pheromones and he ended up with about 20 stings as they chased him into the house. Thought I might post this in case anyone else encounters them! Always good to keep Benedryl in the medicine cabinet :)

Has anyone seen Wali, a 7-year old white/brindle male whippet that escaped from a fenced yard on Prestwick Drive in Fort Washington. Last seen scavenging the dumpsters behind the shopping center at the intersection of Fort Washington Road and Indian Head Hwy on Thursday, 2/2. Microchipped, but not wearing a collar. Paws and Claws Pet Care is currently hiring exceptional Dog Walkers and Pet Sitters to join our wonderful team. Paws and Claws Pet Care is an established and well-loved company in the Lower Prince Georges and Charles County Maryland area.

Dog Walker/Pet Sitter Responsibilities:

Must live in or within 5 miles of the towns listed.
Must have a cell phone, smart phone preferred and able to check emails throughout the day
Be able to do walks M-F 10:30-3:30 and able to do at least one weekend a month of pet sitting. Usually 1 or 2 sits between 7-9am and 7-9pm. Weekends are very flexible and you don't lose your whole day like traditional work days.
Enter the homes of clients and walk their dog for varying lengths of time (usually 20-30 minutes each)
Check that pets have ample water supply and refill as necessary
Clean up any potty accidents have occurred.
Communicate with clients (in writing) and with management (by text) during visits

Dog Walker/Pet Sitter Requirements and Qualifications:

Must have your own, reliable mode of transportation to perform the duties and responsibilities associated with this role
Must be extremely detail oriented and able to follow detailed instructions
Must be responsible, reliable, dependable and punctual.
Must be able to self-manage
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be compassionate about animals
Must be able to walk in all types of weather
Must be 21
Must feel comfortable working with and interacting with both small and large dogs
Must be able to pass criminal background check
