Today would have been Ellie Mae’s 5th birthday 🎂🤍
This photo was taken last year on her 4th birthday, before her paws had to find a new path.

Six weeks ago, on Christmas Day, I had to say goodbye to her due to IVDD. Losing her so suddenly and so unfairly has left a hole in my heart that’s hard to put into words. Ellie Mae wasn’t “just a dog” — from the time I picked her up at 8 weeks old, she was my constant companion, my shadow, and my little soul dog.

Today isn’t just about the loss. It’s about celebrating her — her big personality, her loyalty, her love, and all the joy she packed into far too short of a life. I was so incredibly lucky to be loved by her, and I will carry that love with me forever.

Cimarron Jacks Ellie Mae of Diamond D (2/5/21-12/25/25)

Today we unexpectedly said goodbye to our beloved Ellie Mae. We are beyond heartbroken and grieving the loss of a very special girl who meant the world to me. From the day I picked her up from the airport at 8 weeks old, we have never been apart for more than a few hours and I am devastated. I know so many of you have experienced this same sorrow so please hug your pets a little tighter tonight. 🐾💔

I wanted to post a quick update on Pepper. Due to some extenuating circumstances beyond her control, her first owner had to make the heartbreaking decision to find her a new home. As I always believe, God has a plan and/or solution for every problem. Unbeknownst to me, my long time horse friend Sarah King had recently lost her JRT and was looking for another one and she immediately responded to my post about Pepper. A month later here is a picture of Pepper enjoying her warming blanket after a hard morning working in the horse barn with Sarah.

Puppies are supposed to be lifelong commitments but unfortunately sometimes life happens. If you ever find yourself in this situation don’t beat yourself up, just please reach out to your breeder or to a breed specific group for help. They have a huge network of contacts that can hopefully give your fur baby a happy ending. ❤️🐶

On this day in 2021 this puppy was born in Yale, OK. At the time, I had no idea I would soon lose my beloved Petey and would be desperate for a new fur baby. When I first contacted Marcia Johnson at Cimarron Jacks, this puppy was not available. However, I believe God knew what I needed, and just a few days later the original buyer had unforeseen circumstances and needed to pass on a puppy at that time. I took one look at her picture and knew she was meant to be mine. Today, she has been "momma" to two beautiful litters of her own but is also still very much her "momma's girl"!
