Muzzles often carry a stigma, but they’re not just for aggression. Arlo’s wearing his pink muzzle to stop him from licking his itchy skin raw while undergoing treatment. (Turns out, it’s not allergies—surprising, right?)

At Veterinary Medical Center, we encourage muzzle training as a positive and proactive step for all dogs. Whether it’s for vet visits, grooming, scavenging prevention, or health protection like Arlo’s, muzzles are a tool of love and safety.

As a veterinarian, getting the opportunity to see Dr. Temple Grandin speak is truly an honor. Her work has fundamentally shaped how we understand animal behavior, welfare, and humane livestock handling. So much of what we practice today—often without even realizing it—is influenced by her research and advocacy.
Beyond her scientific contributions, Dr. Grandin’s ability to translate animal perception into practical, ethical solutions continues to inspire me as both a veterinarian and a lifelong learner. Seeing her in person is a powerful reminder of the impact one person can have when science, compassion, and persistence come together.
Grateful for the chance to learn from a true pioneer. 🐄🧠
