Meet Sebastian.

Four weeks old and all alone.

Somehow, this tiny kitten found himself in a gas station parking lot at just 4–5 weeks old.

He was tucked away in the bushes and had apparently been there all day before someone finally noticed him. We don’t know exactly how he got there, but with his little scraped-up nose, it makes you wonder if he might have taken an unexpected ride in someone’s car engine before ending up all by himself.

He may be tiny, but nobody has told him that. This little guy is fierce. Trying to hold him is a bit like wrestling a greased pig, and he firmly believes fingers are provided for chomping purposes. Every chance he gets, he reminds us that he’s tough enough to take on the world.

Thankfully, he doesn’t have to do that alone anymore.

For a kitten who spent a day hiding in the bushes of a busy gas station, Sebastian has a bright future ahead of him. And if his personality is any indication, he’s going to keep all of us entertained along the way.

If you’d like to help cover some of Sebastian’s care, food, litter, and veterinary expenses, he would be very appreciative. Every dollar helps give tiny fighters like Sebastian the chance to grow up safe, healthy, and loved.

Hi humans. I’m Vision. I’m super mad at these rescue people but they promise me I’ll be ok. I’m a feral independent woman. I’ve worked hard my whole life keeping my babies safe. I guess I don’t have to do that anymore because I had surgery last week. I know my babies are safe and don’t need me anymore. Anyway, enough rambling out of me. The humans say I have a bill that needs to be paid- whatever that means. So, thanks! - Vision 💪

🎉 If you were wondering… today is FRIDAY!! Woohoo! 🎉

A big thank you to everyone who came out to open house last night. The kitties thoroughly enjoyed having visitors, extra attention, and a few well-deserved compliments.

As for Cherri Daffodil Thunderbeans, she has officially declared herself the belle of the ball. She graciously accepted admiration from her adoring fans, soaked up every bit of attention, and would like everyone to know that being adorable is exhausting work.

Thank you for spending part of your evening with us and helping make a difference for these wonderful cats. We appreciate each and every one of you—and so do the kitties. ❤️🐾

Pictured is Cherri Daffodil Thunderbeans. She is still waiting on her forever human.

(I hope everybody can find a kitty that looks at them the way Cherri is looking at her new friend.)

She may be small, but clearly she has hired a whole committee to make sure she is properly supervised, adored, and spoiled.

More JKR kitties living their best life! ❤️🐾

We absolutely love seeing these updates and especially love when people include the before-and-after photos. It reminds us exactly why this work is so important.

Bree and Treeo were both rescued by JKR in 2022 and adopted about two months apart by the same family. Just look at them now! From uncertain beginnings to spoiled, loved, and thriving members of their family. 🥰

Today is National Hug Your Cat Day, created to encourage cat owners to spend a little extra time with their feline companions and recognize the real benefits of human-animal bonding.

The kitties approve!

And the timing is perfect because tonight is open house at JKR from 6pm–8pm. We have cats you can cuddle!

Is your forever kitty a snuggly Velcro cat, or more of a “you may pet me when I say you may pet me” kind of kitty?

We want to see your best kitty snuggle pics. Drop them below! 🐾

Pictured is Cherri Daffodil Thunderbeans, she has been handing out hugs all week to our amazing volunteers as she adjusts to life at JKR.

Today somebody left some Churu treats at JKR.

Thank you.

Those truly are magic around here and are very appreciated. Spicy kittens especially appreciate them, and they help build trust with the little ones who need it most.

It may seem like a small thing, but it's not. Every small act of kindness adds up to something bigger. The support, encouragement, and generosity from our community make a real difference in the lives of these kittens every single day.

To our JKR friend and supporter: Your thoughtful gift will bring a lot of happy purrs and we are incredibly grateful for your kindness.

~Jen ❤️
