‼️ Located in Subiaco, AR but can be transported. We have lovely fosters in NWA as well as in the River Vally and eastern OK.
We just received this message:
“We are in Subiaco, AR.
The vet said he is around 1 year old. I truly know very little about him. He is intelligent, very sweet, gets along with our dogs well, and is always looking to please us.
He does not need a home with any fowl around. He likely would need a backyard to run around in with all of his energy as a young hound. He has some food aggression that we can easily manage. He was fairly thin when he showed up to our place.
We are having him euthanized on the 26th if he hasn’t found another home.”
This was one of the worst weeks we’ve had in a while for these kind of messages. We truly want to help. We spend hours trying to find fosters, adopters, money, volunteer drivers and time to do what we can to help our community. By we, I mean, there are two of us actively involved and we both work full-time. We have three wonderful fosters, and both of us are currently taking care of fosters of our own.
When we are given a deadline so short to find a foster for a dog who is seventh in the line of our requests for help just this week, it’s hard not to feel despair. There’s only so much we can do on our own.
Enough about us! This young male is in desperate need of someone to take him in immediately. They originally offered to get him vaccinated on Monday and to pay for his neuter, but now say they have canceled all that. In their defense, he’s a threat to their livestock. They rely on their livestock for their livelihood. Now we need to rely on our community for his life.
He has not been around children since he was found. He rides well in the car and has excellent leash manners. He is currently around several livestock guardian dogs, and has occasionally tried to show dominance. He has been easily corrected by the other dogs. These behaviors will most likely get better with neutering. We are told that he is very sweet and loving.
There are way too many people in this community for us to believe that there is no one who will help. We can provide a crate, collar, leash, vet care, food, toys and anything else that he needs until he finds a home. Can you please provide a yard and a safe warm place for him in your home to sleep? He doesn’t even have a name. He would love for you to provide that, too. 🙏 ❤️
