Kitties and Kanines Veterinary Clinic Our 501(c)3mission is to provide high quality low cost spay/neuter and basic wellness for dogs & cats

In 2007, a group of concerned individuals formed the 501(c)(3) nonprofit called River Valley Animal Welfare Coalition, now called Friends of Kitties & Kanines, out of the concern for pet overpopulation in the River Valley community. They realized that the main reason people do not spay/neuter their pets is due to the high cost or having no access to spay/neuter services.

nary Clinic opened in 2009 and became the first clinic of its kind in the state of Arkansas. The clinic is proud to provide the River Valley community with a clinic that has a state-of-the-art surgery center and the latest equipment. Kitties & Kanines Veterinary Clinic is currently preforming around 7,000 spay/neuter surgeries and administering over 14,000 vaccines each year. Friends of Kitties & Kanines our 501(c)(3) works to fund Kitties & Kanines Veterinary Clinic to provide the community with high-quality, low-cost spay/neuter services, as well as vaccinations and microchipping. This is only possible through the generous grants, fundraisers, and donations from the community. We have also recently been able to expand our services to include a free pet food pantry and a community cat trap neuter return program. Our dream is to expand our services in the future to include services that will educate and empower pet owners to be the best pet parents possible.

🐐Meet Pearl! 🐐

Pearl is a 2-week-old baby goat who was rejected by her mother at birth because her feet were turned. Our amazing vet tech, Grace, has been bottle-feeding her around the clock, and she’s already making great progress!

Dr. Ashley and the team at Kitties & Kanines have placed splints on Pearl’s legs in hopes of helping straighten her feet as she grows.

Just look at this sweet girl! Pearl is loved by all of us at Kitties & Kanines, and we’re cheering her on every step of the way. ❤️

We get it—those tiny toe beans are irresistible. But before you scoop up that adorable litter you found outside… WAIT.

Don’t steal kittens from their mom! She is probably out looking for food. Most of the time, she’s coming back.

If they look clean, warm, and well-fed, mom is probably nearby. Watch from a distance. If mom returns, great! Leave them alone.

With all the rain☔ we have been getting we want you to be aware 🎗️ that there are major health 🏥 risk for your pets that come with the water.

1. Dogs- Heartworms. Heartworms are spread by 🦟mosquitos, BUT can be prevented with a simple medication💊 given monthly or a yearly shot.
2. Dogs, Cats, and Humans - Leptospirosis. This is a bacteria🦠 most commonly picked up by drinking contaminated water and spread by infected urine. The bacteria causes kidney damage, meningitis, liver failure, trouble breathing, and even death. BUT there is a vaccine 💉 that prevents it for dogs.
3. Dogs, Cats, and Humans- Giardia. This is a parasite 👾 that most commonly is picked up thru drinking contaminated water, but can then spread thru infected p**p. It can cause diarrhea, smelly greasy p**p, and dehydration. IT CAN BE TREATED with medication.

We do surgery June 1 - 4, June 8- 11, June 15-19, June 22-26, & June 29- 30

Feral cat surgery package starts at $72 includes basic surgery, Rabies vaccine and ear tip. If the cat is pregnant the price can increase depending on trimester. If the cat has fleas/ticks or worms we will have to treat to avoid anemia issues treatment cost is $20.
