🐱🩺 VET TECH WEEK: THE FELINE DEPARTMENT HAS ENTERED THE CHAT 🩺🐱

We can’t celebrate Vet Tech Week without recognizing our purr-fessional kitty vet techs! 😂🐾

They may not know how to draw blood, monitor anesthesia, or fill out medical records… but they sure know how to:
🐾 Sit directly on the paperwork we need.
🐾 Knock supplies off the counter just because.
🐾 Supervise every single thing we do.
🐾 Take a 6-hour nap in the middle of a very busy shift.
🐾 Stare at us like WE’RE the ones doing everything wrong. 👀
🐾 Demand snacks as payment for their hard work. 😂

Their credentials? Certified in cattitude, advanced napping, and workplace supervision. 🎓🐈‍⬛

They might not be much help in an emergency, but they definitely keep us entertained and remind us why we love what we do! ❤️

🐾💙 HAPPY VETERINARY TECHNICIAN WEEK! 💙🐾

This week, we’re celebrating the amazing veterinary technicians who help keep tails wagging, purrs going, and our patients healthy! 🐶🐱🩺

From comforting nervous pets and holding paws during scary moments to drawing blood, monitoring anesthesia, assisting with surgeries, and keeping everything running behind the scenes, our vet techs do SO much more than most people realize! 🩺🐾

They are the gentle hands, caring hearts, and hardworking heroes who make a difference in the lives of our patients every single day. They celebrate the victories, comfort us through the tough moments, and love every animal as if it were their own. ❤️

🐾🎉 FRIDAY HAS ENTERED THE CHAT! 🎉🐾

The pets are ready for the weekend, the humans are running on caffeine, and the vet staff are just trying to make it to 9 o’clock without someone eating something they shouldn’t. 😂☕🐶

Our patients have been practicing their best puppy eyes all week, the cats are plotting their escape, and somebody’s dog is definitely going to eat a whole sock before Monday. 🤦‍♀️🤣

But no matter how crazy the week gets, we wouldn’t trade our furry patients for anything! ❤️🐾

It’s National Black Cat Month, and we’re ready to see all the spooky little house panthers! 🖤👻

Black cats may look like they’re plotting something mysterious… but as a veterinary clinic, we can confirm their biggest crimes usually include:

🐾 Knocking things off the counter
🐾 Demanding food approximately 3 minutes after eating
🐾 Attacking feet at 2 AM
🐾 Taking over the entire bed
🐾 And pretending they don’t hear you when you say their name 😂

But behind all that spooky sass are some of the sweetest, funniest, most lovable patients we get to see! 🖤🐾

🩺 Friendly vet reminder: Even the most mischievous house panther needs regular wellness exams, vaccines, parasite prevention, dental care, and routine health checks!

🐾❤️ National Puppy Mill Survivor Day ❤️🐾

Today, we honor the brave dogs who survived life in puppy mills — and the people who give them the chance to finally experience the life they deserve.

From a veterinary perspective, puppy mill survivors can require more than routine medical care. Years of neglect, poor nutrition, inadequate socialization, and stressful living conditions can leave lasting physical and emotional scars.

We see these survivors come through our doors carrying more than their medical history. Some are frightened by unfamiliar people, anxious about being handled, or unsure what to expect in a veterinary setting. Others arrive with conditions that have gone untreated for far too long.

Our job is not only to treat what we can see, but to help them feel safe. ❤️

That may mean moving slowly, giving them extra time, using gentle handling techniques, providing lots of positive reinforcement, and allowing them to learn that the veterinary clinic can be a place of kindness and comfort.

Every small step matters.

🐶 A first calm exam.
🐶 A tail wag.
🐶 Taking a treat from a hand.
🐶 Relaxing on a soft blanket.
🐶 Finally learning that someone is there to help.

These moments may seem small, but for a puppy mill survivor, they can be enormous victories.

Today, we celebrate their resilience and the families and rescue organizations who patiently walk beside them on their journey. We are honored to be part of their care and to help them discover a healthier, happier life. 🏡❤️

Every survivor deserves compassionate care, patience, and the opportunity to learn what it means to be loved.

🐾 September is Animal Pain Awareness Month! 🐾

Our pets are experts at hiding pain. Unlike people, they can’t tell us when something hurts, so it’s important to recognize the subtle signs that may indicate they aren’t feeling their best. ❤️

Some signs of pain in dogs and cats can include:

🐶🐱 Less interest in playing or normal activities
🐾 Limping, stiffness, or difficulty getting up
🛏️ Sleeping more or hiding
🍽️ Decreased appetite or difficulty eating
😔 Changes in behavior, such as irritability or withdrawing
🧸 Reluctance to jump, climb stairs, or use furniture
💧 Excessive licking or grooming of one area
😣 Panting, restlessness, trembling, or vocalizing
❤️ Changes in posture or facial expression

Pain is not a normal part of getting older. Arthritis, dental disease, injuries, surgery, and many medical conditions can cause discomfort, but there are often ways we can help manage that pain and improve your pet’s quality of life.

If you notice changes in your pet’s behavior or mobility, don’t wait until they are visibly suffering. Early recognition and treatment can make a big difference. 🐾

This Animal Pain Awareness Month, take a moment to pay attention to the little changes. Your pet may not be able to say, “I hurt,” but they’re counting on us to listen in other ways. ❤️🐾

🇺🇸 Remembering September 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the incredible heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.

Among those heroes were countless working dogs who searched through the rubble, located survivors, and helped bring comfort to those in need. From search-and-rescue dogs to therapy dogs, these animals worked alongside their handlers with courage, loyalty, and an incredible willingness to serve.

🐾 They searched.
🐾 They comforted.
🐾 They never gave up.

As a veterinary team, we have the privilege of caring for animals every day and witnessing the extraordinary bond between people and their pets. September 11th reminds us just how much animals can mean to us — not only as companions, but as protectors, helpers, and heroes.

Today, we remember all the human and animal heroes of 9/11.

🇺🇸 Never Forget. 🇺🇸

With gratitude to the brave men, women, and animals who served that day and in the days that followed. 🐾❤️🤍💙
