🐾 In loving memory of Pocket the Bulldog 🐾

Utterly devastated ….
14 years ….
The longest I’ve ever had a dog, the closest bond I’ve ever had with an animal, & so healthy most her life, until arthritis creeped in.
I use to think people who called animals their soul mates were silly. Ugh, I’ll eat those words, because my soul did everything I could to keep her soul here as long as I could, if she wanted to be. She had such a huge will to live. But when she left, she took a piece of my soul with her, because she knew I got to keep a piece of hers.

Loss is never easy. In fact, you can prepare for it for years, know it’s coming, & it’s still not what you expect. It may not feel fair, in fact it’s not fair at all…. Being heartbroken is an essential part of growth, unfortunately. And I have zero regrets of being the best mom I could be to this precious little soul. I seen Jesus perform miracles in this little stinker for several years.
Librela & Adequan were a lifesaver & helped her quality by far! She refused to potty on the floor, up to her very last breath she made sure she was a “big girl” & it took every bit of her Will she had left.

She suffered not. As she seemed happy to see me walk in the door, eager to have a snack, seconds later she walked out to porch to her favorite spot to lay on her fuzzy blanket & watch the birds in the sunshine, where she instantly met Jesus’ arms to carry her home. 🙏🏽
We are not sure what happened, but that little OverAchiever gave me 14 yrs & 3 months…. And she deserves to go home to heaven & run in a new body, & be her sassy little self….. as long as she is sitting on the porch one day watching birds, when He comes to get me 🩵🩷
