Meet Katie. 💛

This sweet girl was found emaciated, scared, and hiding behind a dumpster at Fire Station 4.

But thankfully, she was found by someone who wasn't going to turn his back on her.

Firefighter Shelton immediately jumped into action!🚒

He took the time to look her over, make sure she was cared for, and keep her safe while we worked to find the resources she desperately needed.

Because of his compassion, Katie's story didn't end behind that dumpster.

Instead, it became the beginning of something beautiful. ❤️

Today, Katie is safe, recovering from her spay surgery, and being absolutely SPOILED by an incredible foster who already adores her! 🥹💛

From hiding behind a dumpster to resting in a loving home, Katie is finally getting the second chance she deserves.

We want to give a HUGE thank-you to Firefighter Shelton for recognizing a life in need and choosing to make a difference. And to Katie's wonderful foster, thank you for opening your heart and home to a girl who needed someone in her corner.

THIS is what community looks like.❤️

Rescue doesn't happen because of one person or one organization. It happens when people choose kindness, step up, and work together to change a life.

It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for ours.

Churchill is back and it’s breaking our hearts and his 😭💔
Please take a moment to learn about him. He is worth it.

Churchill didn’t come back because he is a bad dog. Churchill loves people, loves kids, has done great with other dogs and has even done well with cats. He’s affectionate, smart and eager to please.

His struggles? Separation anxiety. We won’t sugar coat it, separation anxiety can be very hard. It’s a challenge that takes time and trial and error to figure out how to manage.
Most kennels don’t contain him and when out of the kennel he’s looking for a way to find his people. He doesn’t want to run away, he wants to be with his family at all times. That’s a hard thing to make work in the average day to day routine.
I’m sure most of us would take our dogs with us everywhere if we were able to, but the reality is that most of us can’t. We know that, Churchill does not.

He is not doing well being back at the shelter. He is drooling, chewing on the kennel bars and frantically looking for a way to get close to staff. He wants a home to call his own.

Churchill (and a few others) is looking for someone who not only understands the needs behind separation anxiety but has the ability to work through it while figuring out the best way to keep Churchill safe and happy.

He has had 2 wonderful families try to make it work but their schedules and Churchill didn’t align the way they needed. We don’t blame them, we are thankful they tried. It has helped us learn more and we now have the knowledge for his future forever home.

We want the next home to be it, Churchill needs the next home to be it.

A HUGE thank you to Fort Smith Future School for coming out and spending time volunteering with us! 🐾❤️

We’re honestly not sure who had more fun the dogs or the kiddos! 🐶🥰 There were plenty of wagging tails, happy faces, and lots of love to go around!

And a special THANK YOU to Olive Coffee Co. for treating our furry friends to some delicious pup cups! 🐾☕🐶 They definitely enjoyed every last lick! 😋❤️

We are so grateful for a community that continues to show so much love to our shelter animals!

🐾💕 Are you a one-dog kind of household looking for the perfect little companion? Well, we might just have your girl! Meet Beanie! 🥰

This pint-sized ball of sugar is the sweetest little package!

At almost 3 years old, Beanie has so much love to give! She LOVES car rides, has great manners, enjoys her walks, LOVES the water and has just enough energy to keep life fun!

We've learned a few things about our sweet girl, and the biggest one is that Beanie loves her doggie friends, but prefers to have her home and her humans all to herself! And honestly... we get it, girl! 😂💕

Beanie is just waiting for that special someone to give her a chance. She's got so much love packed into that little body!

❤️ Let's find Beanie her person! She's worth every bit of the effort!
