Heartworms are parasitic worms that live in a dog's heart and lungs, causing a potentially fatal disease. They are transmitted through mosquito bites and can lead to serious organ damage and heart failure if left untreated. Monthly heartworm prevention is crucial because it eliminates the immature larvae that mosquitoes transmit, preventing the worms from maturing and causing disease. 👨‍⚕️🐶

To celebrate National Heartworm Awareness month, we are giving away 6 months of free heartworm prevention!! To be entered in the giveaway you must be a client of Midway Veterinary Hospital, follow both our instagram and facebook accounts, and like this post!

Happy World Veterinary Day!

Today, we celebrate the incredible veterinarians who dedicate their lives to healing, protecting, and saving animals.

Behind every tail, there’s a veterinarian who made it possible.

They work tirelessly, often behind the scenes, offering skill, compassion, and heart in every exam, surgery, and emergency.

To our veterinary partners, shelter vets, emergency teams, and every animal healthcare hero — thank you.

You are the heartbeat of rescue, and we are endlessly grateful for your dedication.

Here’s to the healers, the hope-givers, and the lifesavers.
