Special Equestrians, Inc. is excited to welcome our participants and volunteers back to a new program year! It just hasn't been the same on campus without the joy of our families. ✨🐴😍

We are excited to showcase the facility updates that have been happening during the past few weeks. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers and community workgroups, we have transformed the office space, making way for the Judy Cifolelli Professional Learning Center, updated the horse barn and carriage barn, and spruced up the green spaces. We can’t wait for you to see the beautiful horseshoe design pavers as we develop the Wishing Well Sensory Garden. 💫🌱🎋

Volunteers, we encourage you to sign up in Better Impact for much-needed opportunities, and we welcome anyone in our community who likes to get a little earth under their nails to complete an application for our upcoming Equine-Assisted Learning Program, Roots to Reins, which will eventually give way to new programming for our participants. Complete an application today! https://specialequestrians.net/volunteer/

Do you want to learn more about our mission to serve individuals with disabilities through equine-assisted activities and therapies? Schedule a tour, complete an application, and Make Miracles Happen! specialequestrians.net

Special Equestrians, Inc. shared a delightful morning with our SE Community to celebrate the completion of the Judi Cifolelli Professional Development Learning Center. We extend a heartfelt “Thank you” to our lovely supporters who joined us at our ribbon-cutting ceremony to honor Rudy Cifolelli for his generous contribution to making this space a reality.✨

Over the past few years, Rudy has caused a ripple effect through his willingness to donate to strategic initiatives that directly impacted our ability to provide critical services to our community. Rudy’s annual contributions have supported the development of our herd of therapeutic horses, the certification of four instructors, and the creation of three new programs. This serves as an example of how one person can have a profound impact on an organization's ability to expand. 🙌

We look forward to our upcoming professional development series, beautifying the Wishing Well Sensory Garden, kickstarting our program year, launching Horsepower for Healing, Ride-A-Thon, and Taste of Love, connecting with our community, and Making Miracles Happen! Visit our event pages at specialequestrians.net.💪

Schedule a tour on a Wednesday or Saturday morning between 9 a.m. and noon if you were unable to attend today’s event. We’d love to show you around and connect you with Special Equestrians’ powerful mission to serve individuals with disabilities through equine-assisted activities and therapies.

Special thanks to Suzanne Renwick, the SE volunteers, the SE staff members, Sherwin-Williams on Palm Beach Blvd., Beesley’s Paw Prints 🐾 and our SE community of supporters! ❤️💙💛

Special Equestrians, Inc. enjoyed a workday with Florida Gulf Coast University students as part of FGCU’s Weeks of Welcome, or WOW! According to their website, “The goal is to welcome new students to campus and welcome back returning students! The weeks are filled with various events and programs aimed at helping students meet new people, become involved with student organizations and departments, and learn about important resources throughout the campus.” Service projects and connections with the greater community are also part of FGCU’s welcome back, and that’s where SE comes in!🐴✨

Students restored and renovated parts of the Sensory Trail, a sensory integration trail explored on pony or horseback, where each obstacle becomes a learning opportunity, developmental milestone, or confidence boost for our participants. Created with FGCU students, staff, and SE volunteers many years ago, the Sensory Trail is maintained each year by FGCU students, which has a direct impact on our ability to provide services to those with disabilities in our community. The Sensory Trail is also used for liberty and groundwork activities during Horses and Heroes, SE’s veteran program, and Hearts to Hoofs, grooming program.

Students also painted doors in the horse barn and carriage barn, pulled weeds, cleaned stalls, and cleaned and polished tack! WOW, did they make a huge impact in their community today! Wings Up, FGCU!🦅🦅🦅
