Foster a Pet. Protect a Family.
For many survivors of domestic violence, one of the biggest barriers to leaving an unsafe situation is fear for their pet’s safety.
At Gulf Coast Humane Society, we are creating a specialized foster network to provide temporary homes for pets belonging to domestic violence survivors while they seek safety, housing, and support services.
These pets are not being surrendered. They are beloved family members whose owners fully intend to reunite with them once they are safe and stable.
We are urgently looking for compassionate foster families willing to step forward and help.
By opening your home temporarily to a pet in need, you may be giving someone the ability to escape an unsafe situation, seek help, and begin rebuilding their life without having to abandon the animal they love.
What foster families provide:
• A safe and caring temporary home (30-90+ days)
• Patience, stability, and kindness during a stressful transition
• Confidentiality and compassion
What Gulf Coast Humane Society provides:
• Food, supplies, and veterinary care
• Ongoing support from our team
• Assistance throughout the foster placement
Foster placements may vary in length, but every foster home plays a direct role in protecting both pets and the people who love them.
If you have ever wanted to make a difference in someone’s life, this is a powerful way to help.
