We love serving our community members and the four-legged companions who find their way to the shelter, and we feel like itβs time to clear the air about the services we provide.
Our volunteers and team members care deeply about the shelter guests and work tirelessly to ensure they have a clean, safe, and nurturing environment, but we are a shelter, not an animal rescue, vet clinic, or groomer.
This means our team does not have the capacity to trap, provide vet services to the public, or groom any pets within our community.
We are an animal shelter, focusing on reconnecting lost dogs and cats with their rightful owners. If these pets are not reclaimed within 5 days, we place them up for adoption, hoping they will find a new loving home. If we cannot find a new home for the animals in our care, we transfer them to other agencies with additional resources to connect them with potential adopters.
As an animal shelter, we also provide a safe space for individuals who can no longer care for a dog or cat, with an opportunity to relinquish them into a safe environment.
Surrenders are accepted at the discretion of our team based on available space, animal health and behavior, and the circumstances surrounding the relinquishment of the animal.
If you or someone you know finds a lost dog or cat, the best thing you can do is contact Code Enforcement by calling 970-867-5678.
