Hello, everyone! As many of you know, I have been breeding golden retrievers and Cavalier King Charles spaniels for several years. In all of that time, I have never had a puppy with an issue like the issue that Violet has. When I took her and her siblings for their first set of puppy shots and Florida health certificate, it was discovered that Violet has a heart murmur and my vet recommended that she be seen by a cardiologist. I made an appointment with the cardiologist ASAP, and she had a complete cardiac workup and testing done. The testing revealed that she is an incredibly healthy puppy, aside from the fact that she has pulmonic stenosis. What that means is that the right side of her heart is having to work harder because as she was forming it did not develop properly. Dr. Bolfer, the amazing cardiologist that saw her, put her on a medication that she will take twice a day, probably for the rest of her life. He said that Violet will have to have surgery on her heart when she is big enough, which he believes will be between the ages of 5 and 7 months. Every other part of the testing was completely normal. She plays, she loves to snuggle, she is happy and healthy and gaining weight. I have an amazing family for her and I am giving her to them, and they are prepared for all that she will need throughout her life...except for the upfront surgical cost. I am asking all of you that if you have an extra $1 to $1,000 or anywhere in between or above that you would be willing to donate to help this little girl have surgery when she is ready, we would greatly appreciate it. I am paying for the cardiology appointments myself and they are prepared to pay for the medication and twice yearly testing and whatever else comes up. Both of Violet's parents have been genetically tested and had complete cardiology exams and clearances, so this diagnosis came as a shock. I will be sharing this to my personal page as well, but I wanted to reach as many people as I could to get as much support for Violet as I can. Thank you all so much!
