Today, we’re celebrating our favorite four-legged family members and all the love, laughter, and unconditional companionship they bring into our lives! ✨
National Dog Day is also a great reminder that keeping your pup healthy means more than lots of belly rubs and treats—it means staying up to date on their vaccinations and preventative care.
Vaccinations help protect your dog from serious, and sometimes life-threatening, infectious diseases such as rabies, parvovirus, distemper, and leptospirosis. Keeping vaccines current can also help protect other pets and, in some cases, the people in your family.
Even dogs who spend most of their time at home can be exposed to infectious diseases through other animals, contaminated environments, boarding facilities, grooming, dog parks, or simply going for a walk. Your veterinarian can help determine which vaccines your dog needs based on their age, lifestyle, health, travel plans, and risk of exposure.
A healthy dog is a happy dog!
Stay current on vaccinations.
Schedule regular wellness exams.
Give them a lifetime of love and preventative care.
From our entire team at Victoria Park Animal Hospital, we wish all our canine patients—and their families—a very happy National Dog Day! #
