Introducing Frances, a gorgeous girl with a beautiful disposition. She is an absolute prize of a girl -- in fact, she is so structurally stunning and sizing out so beautifully that she would stay with us to be a wonderful addition as Queen to our program, but here's the thing...
During her first few weeks, Frances faced a developmental challenge known as Flat-Chested Kitten Syndrome (our first for our cattery!). Once realized, we utilized the incredible corset system invented by FrenchieExotics over several weeks to gently reshape her thorax while her bones were soft and growing. To fuel her fight and guarantee a healthy recovery, we also intensively supplemented her feeding with round-the-clock, premium nutrition.
This life-saving combination worked flawlessly! Now that she isn't burning extra energy just trying to breathe, those extra nutrients have done their job: Frances is thriving and has caught up completely, currently standing as one of our bigger, more substantial females!
π©Ί HER PROGNOSIS & VET CERTIFICATION
Understandably, families might wonder what this early diagnosis means for her future:
β’ LICENSED VET CLEARANCE: Per our usual practice, Frances will receive an official healthy kitten certificate upon her placement, signed by a licensed veterinarian after a thorough, head-to-tail examination.
β’ EXCELLENT LONG-TERM PROGNOSIS: This syndrome is a transient, early developmental hurdle. Because we intervened early and her chest wall stabilized correctly over those weeks, Frances is considered fully recovered.
β’ NORMAL LIFE EXPECTANCY & NO ONGOING CARE: Once a kitten outgrows this condition and reaches weaning age with a normal chest shape, they live completely normal, healthy, active lives. Frances requires no medication or restricted activity.
β’ A NOTE ON FUTURE VET CARE: Because unfamiliar veterinarians sometimes love to attribute any future, unrelated feline ailment back to a kitten's "start in life," we want to be completely transparent: this condition will not return or flare up. It is simply a completed chapter in her baby book.
π‘ A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE ABSOLUTE PERFECT HOME
Because of how incredibly hard we fought for Frances, and the around-the-clock care that went into saving her life, we are looking for an extraordinary home.
If she didn't have this early history, she would be valued as a premium, top-tier Queen in our program. However, we want to turn this into a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a family who deeply appreciates the breed but might find the usual upfront cost out of reach. For this special girl, we have discounted her to a very generous adoption fee that is well under four figures.
Please note: Frances's future family must be fully prepared for the standard, expensive upkeep of a Maine C**n (high-quality diet, regular grooming, and routine veterinary care). She is a treasured member of our family, and if the absolute purrfect match doesn't come along, we are more than content with keeping Frances in our home furever.
