Jalynn definitely has the right idea 😅❤️

At just 8-months-old, Jalynn is everything you could hope for in a young kitten- sweet, friendly, playful, and full of love 💓 She greets people with curiosity and affection, always happy to make a new friend!

One of her favorite pastimes is romping around with other kittens 🐱 Chasing, wrestling, and enjoying all the fun that kittenhood has to offer.

When playtime is over, you’ll often find her perched atop a cat tower, she’s an expert bird watcher. Give her a cozy window perch, and she’ll happily spend time gazing outside.

Jalynn also has an incredibly affectionate side. She loved cuddling up, sharing warmth and companionship with her friends.

If you’re looking for a sweet, social young cat who gets along with other pets and has a lifetime of love to give, Jalynn is ready for you! 🩷🐾

Our shelter will be closed tomorrow, 9/7 in honor of Labor Day ⭐️ We will reopen Tuesday 9/8 for normal hours.

To meet Jalynn, please complete the pre-adoption application online (link in bio) and stop by the Humane Society of Broward County at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. We are open daily at 11 a.m. If you have any questions, call 954-989-3977.

He’s just a big teddy bear 🥺🙏
Everyday, visitors to our shelter walk past this sweet fellow without realizing that underneath that large exterior is a gentle giant waiting to be loved ❤️‍🩹

At just 1 year old, Scully is truly a big baby who wants nothing more than to be close to you ❤️ He will happily climb right into your lap, lean his whole body against you for affection and cover you in kisses. Our volunteers say he sticks by your side like glue, loves belly rubs, knows how to sit, enjoys treats and has plenty of zoomies to keep you laughing. 🥰

Scully is a healthy, happy, high-energy young dog who would love an active family. He is still working on his manners and has been known to jump like a kangaroo when he gets excited, so older kids would probably be the best fit. 💙🙏He may also prefer to be the only dog in the home, if you have another dog we always encourage a dog meet at the shelter. A little training, patience and a harness for walks will go a long way with this sweet boy.

Best of all, Scully’s adoption fee has been covered, and he will go home with a special basket donated in memory of a beloved dad for his birthday. ❤️ Sometimes dogs can help heal our hearts, as long as we are ready for the time, love and responsibility that comes with caring for them.🥹❤️‍🩹

⭐️ Our shelter will be closed this Monday 9/7 in honor of Labor Day ⭐️ We will reopen Tuesday 9/8 for normal hours.

If you think Scully is the guy for you, please complete a pre-adoption application on our website (link in bio) and stop by the Humane Society of Broward County. We open daily at 11 a.m. Questions? Call 954-989-3977.

Let’s get this sweet big baby a home. ❤️🐾

He doesn’t know where his family went? 🥺💔

For all of his life, 4-year-old Frodo knew the comfort of home and a loving family. Sadly, when a family member developed allergies, they had to make the difficult decision to surrender him 😔

Now, this sweet boy is trying to make sense of a world that suddenly looks very different 🥺 Despite his stout heart and brave face, it’s easy to see that Frodo is feeling confused and nervous in the shelter environment.

But underneath that uncertainty is an absolutely wonderful dog ❤️ Frodo is friendly, affectionate, and happiest when he’s close to people. He’ll gladly sit beside you, leaning in for pets and attention ☺️ He knows his name, enjoys treats, and knows basic commands.

In his previous home, Frodo was known for being playful, social, and full of personality. We’re told he’s good with adults, children, and other dogs. He loves playing with balls and could happily spend hours chasing and fetching his favorite toys.

This energetic boy also enjoys letting loose with joyful zoomies. And if there’s water involved, even better! Frodo loves swimming, splashing through sprinklers, and enjoying any opportunity to cool off and have fun ❤️

Frodo is very food and toy motivated, and loves chewing and playing with Nylabones. He also readily allows leashing and handling for walks.

Frodo is looking for what every dog deserves: a family to love forever 🥹 Could that loving family be yours? 🙏

Thanks to a friend, Frodo’s adoption fee has been paid ❤️

If you cannot adopt, please share for Frodo 🙏

To meet Frodo, please complete the pre-adoption application online (link in bio) and stop by the Humane Society of Broward County at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. We are open daily at 11 a.m. If you have any questions, call 954-989-3977.

He’s definitely one of a kind! ✨

Did you see Skywalker make his television debut on WPLG Local 10 this morning? He’s hoping to win the heart of a loving forever family 🙏❤️

Our Purina Pet of the Week is a stunning 1-year-old Pointer mix who may just have the most mesmerizing eyes in the shelter! One look into those beautiful eyes and you’ll be completely smitten.

Skywalker is still very much enjoying his puppy days. He loves to play, gets the zoomies, and has plenty of youthful energy to share. He’s also affectionate and enjoys attention, so once playtime is over, he’s happy to hang out with his favorite people and soak up some love.

When it comes to treats, Skywalker is a gentleman. He takes them gently and is always happy to show you just how treat-motivated he can be.

He’s pretty good on a leash and enjoys getting out to explore. He does great in the car and is happy being anywhere you are!

If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate young dog with gorgeous eyes, a playful spirit, and a whole lot of puppy personality, Skywalker may be the one who steals your heart. Come meet him and see those eyes for yourself!

To meet Skywalker, please complete the pre-adoption application online (link in bio) and stop by the Humane Society of Broward County at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. We are open daily at 11 a.m. If you have any questions, call 954-989-3977.

Bronx is our new Dream Dog! 🐶❤️
4-year-old Bronx is still waiting for a forever family, but with the help of Dolly's Dream, we know his dream of a finding a loving home will come true sooner 🙏

A few years ago, Bronx was adopted from our shelter, but he was recently found as a stray by a Good Samaritan and brought to us because he was microchipped. We contacted his former family, expecting they would be relieved and happy to know that he had been found. Sadly, we never heard back 😔

While it is heartbreaking that Bronx was not reclaimed, we are grateful he is here with us. Now we have the opportunity to find him a family that will truly cherish him and never give up on him ❤️‍🩹

Our staff and volunteers have only wonderful things to say about Bronx, including how well he did on a special Day Out of the shelter ❤️ Bronx is a happy, enthusiastic and extremely energetic dog who loves to have fun. He enjoys running around and playing in the exercise yard and spending time with people. He has plenty of adorable energy and would make a great family companion for people who enjoy an active dog.

Bronx is also a very smart boy. He knows sit and down and is eager to learn more. Our volunteers have been working with him on leash walking using treats to encourage him not to pull, so a harness would be helpful as he continues working on his walking skills.

One of the best things about Bronx is that he is housebroken. He is playful, enthusiastic and ready to be part of a family again. Bronx has already experienced what it feels like to have a home and then lose it. This time, we want his story to have a very different ending 🙏❤️

Thanks to Dolly’s Dream, they have kindly paid his adoption fee, and he gets to go home with goodies to help him settle into his new home ❤️

To meet Bronx, please complete the pre-adoption application online (link in bio) and stop by the Humane Society of Broward County at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. We are open daily at 11 a.m. If you have any questions, call 954-989-3977.

That face! 🥹
Griffin has been waiting 2.5 months for someone to see past his kennel 💔

This handsome 2-year-old, 50 lb boy was originally found as a stray walking along Griffin Road, which is how he got his name ❤️‍🩹

Shelter life has been stressful for Griffin, and unfortunately, he doesn’t always make the best first impression from behind his kennel door. He can be anxious and vocal in his kennel, which may cause potential adopters to keep walking. But once Griffin gets outside, you get to see the wonderful dog he really is. 🥰

Griffin is friendly, gentle, affectionate and loves being around people. 💜 He walks well on a leash, is potty trained, knows “sit,” comes when called and is VERY treat motivated! ❤️ He enjoys toys, playing with dog friends, exploring outside and, of course, stopping by for plenty of pets and affection.

Griffin may bark for your attention from his kennel, but please don’t let that stop you from meeting him. Give him a chance to come outside, take a walk and show you just how sweet and loving he really is. ❤️

After 2.5 months of waiting, we think it’s about time Griffin finally gets to walk out of the shelter for good. 🙏 To meet Griffin, please complete the pre-adoption application online (link in bio) and stop by the Humane Society of Broward County at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. We are open daily at 11 a.m. If you have any questions, call 954-989-3977.
