This week at Safe Haven Cat Rescue, we funded five TNR surgeries, responded to 12 new PetSmart volunteer inquiries, coordinated foster homes, and answered countless requests for help. We also spent time with beautiful Persia at PetSmart, celebrated the adoption of two sweet gray kitties, and provided specialty food to a family in need.

One of the most meaningful moments was hearing from a family we helped in January—who are now inspired and helping cats themselves through their dog-training business. That’s how kindness grows. 🐾💕

It’s been a busy and rewarding week, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helps make this work possible.

🐾 What have we been up to this week at Safe Haven Cat Rescue?

This week, we:

💕 Provided funding for five TNR surgeries
💕 Responded to 12 people interested in volunteering with us at PetSmart
💕 Spent time at PetSmart with beautiful PERSIA—and we don’t think this lovable girl will be waiting long!
💕 Had the privilege of helping two beautiful gray kitties join their forever family
💕 Continued coordinating with our wonderful foster homes
💕 Provided specialty cat food to a local family in need
💕 Responded to the many requests for help we receive every day

One of the most meaningful moments came when we heard from a family we helped in January. They own Devoted K9 Training LLC, and the help they received inspired them to begin helping cats themselves. They also left Safe Haven the kindest recommendation, reminding us that one act of compassion can keep spreading—from one family, to another animal and throughout the community. 🐾

It has been a very busy week, but also an incredibly rewarding one. We are so grateful for every volunteer, foster, adopter, donor and community partner who makes this work possible. We truly could not do it without you. 💕

Sharing for our friends at Cat Passion house… wish list Wednesday!

We don’t ask for donations very often, but the Cat Passion House is FULL right now! 😹❤️

Like so many rescues, the requests for help have been overwhelming, and we’re currently caring for a whole lot of cats and kittens.

So for Wish List Wednesday, we’re putting our wish list out there. If you’d like to send the kitties a little something, every single item helps—food, litter, treats, toys, supplies…we appreciate it all!

And we’re not gonna lie…when a package shows up at the house and it’s addressed to the cats, we get ridiculously excited. 😂📦🐈

Meet Fern & Squirrel! 🐾💕

These sweet 10½-week-old girls are looking for their forever homes! They may be a little shy at first, but underneath those cautious little faces are two loving kittens just waiting for someone to show them they’re safe and adored.

Fern and Squirrel will be spayed on September 10 and will be ready to start their next chapter soon after. ❤️

🐾 POSITION OPEN: CHIEF KITTEN CUDDLER 🐾

Safe Haven Cat Rescue is looking for a few volunteers to help care for our adoptable cats and kittens at our PetSmart adoption center in Fort Gratiot.

Your responsibilities may include:
🐱 Cuddling cats and kittens
❤️ Reminding them that their forever family is out there
🥣 Refilling food and water
🧹 Scooping litter
🧸 Giving them a little playtime and attention

The time commitment is minimal. The biggest challenge of the job? Leaving the kitties at the end of your volunteer shift.

No special experience needed…just a love for cats and a willingness to help.
