🏥 NOW HIRING – PART-TIME MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Coalfield Family Services is seeking a dependable, friendly, and motivated Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our growing medical team at our Fort Gay, WV office.

Position: Medical Assistant
Schedule: Part-Time | Approximately 10:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. Will work 2-3 days per week starting out. Eventually it will become 5 days per week and the hours will change to us opening at 9 am.

Job Duties May Include:

• Taking and documenting vital signs
• Obtaining patient medical histories and updating charts
• Preparing patients for appointments
• Assisting the physician and other medical staff with patient care
• Blood draws/phlebotomy
• Collecting specimens and performing basic in-office testing
• Scheduling appointments and assisting with referrals
• Answering phones and communicating with patients
• Maintaining exam rooms and medical supplies
• Completing other clinical and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Medical Assistant experience or training required.
• Phlebotomy/blood-draw experience strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable working directly with patients
• Must have good communication and organizational skills
• Must be dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Must be able to pass required background checks and drug screening

Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required. An employee who is not currently certified may have the opportunity to become eligible for certification after completing one year of qualifying employment, depending on applicable certification requirements.

We have had 6 out of 7 people not show up for their interview this week for our part-time medical assistant. Is there anyone who is qualified for this job and okay with part time hours able to come for an interview NOW! Yes now not tomorrow but now. lol…and then actually show up.

Fort Gay, WV office in Wayne County.

Currently we’re open Monday - Friday 10-5 but that’s changing to Mon, Wed, Friday 9-5 and Tuesday and Thursday 9-7:30. Plus the rare Saturday 10-1. So you must be available during those hours.

They will start out as 2-3 days per week but should move into 4-5 days per week in a few weeks.

We are incredibly excited to announce that after successful negotiations, Dr. Freddie Vaughan, MD, will be joining the Coalfield Family Services team as our Medical Director and Physician! 🩺

Dr. Vaughan has many years of experience serving patients throughout the Wayne and Cabell County areas, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our growing team.

Before becoming a medical doctor, Dr. Vaughan also worked for approximately five years as a clinical psychologist, giving him a unique background combining both medical and behavioral health experience.

⭐ NOW ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS! ⭐

Dr. Vaughan is expected to begin seeing patients within the next few weeks. He will provide services in person at our Fort Gay, West Virginia office, as well as through telehealth when clinically appropriate and permitted for the service being provided.

We also have plans to continue expanding our medical services, including the future opening of a second office in the Ceredo/Kenova area!
