Working with max on his first session of place command and explanation of why I do certain things.

A little guided social for Lusie and Daisy. These girls are both young, and they have very different personalities. Daisy is also about 50lbs and Lusie is over 100lbs. Daisy is tolerant but uncomfortable with Lusie’s size and pushiness. So I’m implementing the out command to move her away when Daisy is giving all the signals that she’s uncomfortable and not ready for rowdy play. Dogs are testing out if the other dog can read their cues and if they respect their need for a break or some space. Using the out command with Lusie helps her to learn to be more respectful and helps Daisy not to have to snap or anything to communicate her point. They did some play bowing and some light playful stuff after this, but I wasn’t filming then. See if you can notice Daisy’s stillness and lip lift? Can you se how Lusie goes right in to the face and stays there a little bit too long? That’s why I’m moving her away. Later in the video she moves away all on her own at one point.

Welcome newest board and train, Max! This cute guy is around 2.5 years old. He and his mom have done some other training with prong and e-collar, but they’d like to restart fresh with a board and train. He sometimes gets nervous and will have potty accidents in the house. He pulls on leash, jumps on people, and can be hard to control. Mom would like to get him out of the habit of sleeping in her bed and work on sleeping in the crate in another room. He’s fearful of the noise of the pool filter. He can sometimes be reactive on leash if other dogs are barking at him. He barks at food delivery people and chases squirrels.
He also will demand bark and bother his mom when she’s trying to work from home on zoom calls. So we’ll be building a good foundation and addressing any issues along the way. Stay tuned! 🐾♥️🐕

Working with Lusie teaching her the on/off switch. Getting her excited and then giving the down command, then releasing her right away and repeating the process. I correct using the remote for any mouthing or jumping. We also played some tug at the end and practiced her out command.
