Poor Winston has an owie on his foot and has the dang cone of shame, as the call it because he won't leave his foot alone. He does look pretty darn cute in his cone when he smiles. He on a few medications to help it heal and loves taking his pills in "cheese balls" which is perfect for the "cheeseball" he can be!! He's always making me laugh and smile when I'm caring for him with Rocky Mountain Pet Services & More, LLC. If your pet doesn't like pill pockets (they can be pretty expensive), you can always try other alternatives like what I'm using with Winston which is America cheese slices. This cheese is soft and can mold around the pill and normally can mask the smell and flavor of the pill. Peanut butter is good too but messy. When I use it I put it on a spoon, then put the pill in the peanut butter and let the dog lick it off the spoon. If the dog isn't willing to do the licking from the spoon I put the spoon in the dogs mouth on the side by their teeth and like you would with your finger and put the pills and peanut butter in this way. The spoon just keeps this process less messy and works great. Then the dog gets to lick the spoon as a chaser afterward which is helpful making certain those pills went down. Some like to use lunch meat. I don't because this doesn't securely hold the pill. There are other methods but many can waste the pets food and their medication. Normally when you try to mix the medication with their food the pets will walk from their food especially cats! I could go on about this topic for a long time. But I just thought I would share cute Winston since you haven't seen him in a long time and he has a sore foot right now and he could use some positive healing vibes!
