Meet Frito.

Seven months ago, Frito arrived with a severely degloved leg, and we were pretty sure an amputation was in her future.

Then Dr. Morganne Patterson asked us a very important question: How much work were we willing to do if there was a chance to save her leg?
Our answer? “Anything.”

And “anything” turned into weekly appointments, countless rounds of medical care, a whole lot of funds dedicated to her recovery, and more than a few goofy, cat-medicine-induced drunk moments. Most importantly, it meant an incredible foster who poured an unbelievable amount of time, patience, and love into making sure Frito got everything she needed.

Seven months later, we’re thrilled to say that Frito is officially in her forever home - with her leg, too.

Her journey is a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do, and we couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who helped get this little lady here.

Momma Bell ~ 2 years old female, $150

If you are looking for a companion tripod cat who would love nothing more than to be by your side, hanging out, and snuggling close to you, Momma Bell is THE woman for you. This perfect angel of a gal is a calm, SWEETHEART who SOAKS UP the loves. She goes CRAAAAAAAZY for face scritches, not quite sure what to do with herself while they occur. Momma B contorts her cute little body and face, trying to get ALL the scritches and knocks herself off balance.

Like many fascinating people, her past is a bit of a mystery. Coming from Louisana, she was likely dumped because she showed up suddenly, and was SO friendly! A year later, she disappeared for 4-5 days and when she returned, she had a severely broken leg and made her way to CO to get her the help she neeeded. Her amputation recovery was a bit rough but now, she’s cleared, healthy, and ready for enjoy the life of a cherished house cat who has servants catering to her every whim. This sweet gal has a “RBF” if you catch our meaning, but her personality is so the opposite of that! Momma B is still building muscle in her remaining back leg and gets around purrfectly fine, but her favorite thing to do is loaf. She can’t jump high places, so soft bedding in lower places is the way to go for this queen. Her days consist of loafing on one side, rotate, repeat. She hasn’t shown any interest in playing with toys, but that might come with time. Momma B does NOT like to be picked up - she gets really nervous. However, she comes up to you and rubs her sweet face all over, trying to get the face scritches.

She’s a pretty quiet gal who hasn’t said a word yet but I bet she’ll trust you with her secrets in time. Come meet Momma B - you’ll never feel lonely again.

Found: just west of the CSU campus in Fort Collins
Chip registered to a shelter in Texas. Because he was adopted so long ago all they have is the name of his adopter, and we’re having trouble tracking them down. Let’s get this sweet old boy home to his family!

We are hoping our amazing supporters can share their generosity with our fellow rescuers who are constantly trying to decrease cat populations by spaying/neutering! These dedicated people are out in the middle of the night trapping and spend days fixing as many kitties as possible.
