Unsung Heroes: The Heartbeat of Our Clinic

When you bring your pet through our doors, you hand over a piece of your heart. And every single day, our vet techs hold that trust with gentle hands and deeply caring hearts.

While you might see them taking temperatures or weighing your pet, so much of what a vet tech does happens in the quiet moments behind the scenes:

They are the comforting voice whispering "you're a good boy" to a nervous pup waiting for surgery.

They are the warm blanket tucked gently around a cat waking up from anesthesia.

They are the patient hands holding a treat just right so a shy dog forgets to be afraid.

They are the steady presence holding your hand—and your pet's paw—when times get tough.

A vet tech's day is filled with hard work, complex medicine, and constant movement. But above all, it is filled with unconditional love for animals who can't say "thank you" in words—so techs listen for it in purrs, tail wags, and soft sighs of relief instead.

To our incredible tech team: thank you for loving our patients as if they were your own. We truly couldn't do this without you.

If you’ve ever wondered what makes vet techs special, just take a look at the stuff that doesn't gross them out.

While the rest of us gag when a pet vomits on the carpet, a vet tech will inspect it like a detective solving a crime. "Ohhh, looks like part of a sock, half a squeaker, and… is that a crayon? Nice!"

Nothing phases them. Blood? Standard. Ticks? No sweat. Whatever terrifying concoction a dog picked up in the backyard? Just another Tuesday.

So the next time your pet decides to engage in something truly disgusting, don't panic—just bring them to a vet tech. They won't just handle it; they'll probably find it fascinating.

Veterinary technicians perform physically demanding, technically complex, and emotionally challenging work to safeguard animal health and strengthen the human-animal bond.

Each October during National Veterinary Technician Week we recognize the essential contributions of veterinary technicians to animal healthcare and highlight the skilled professionals who work alongside veterinarians to ensure animals receive compassionate, high-quality medical care.

Please join us in celebrating our team of amazing technicians: Kassey, Sophie, Selina, Kait and Lindsay. This place would be nothing without them.

Help Us Learn More About Healthy Aging in Dogs!

Did you know that dogs can help scientists learn more about aging in both pets and people? The Dog Aging Project at Colorado State University (CSU) is part of an exciting effort to better understand how dogs age and how we can help them live longer, healthier lives.

By learning more about dogs as they grow older, researchers hope to find ways to improve their health and quality of life. This research may help us better understand aging in people, too!

Why does this matter? Our dogs are family, and we want them to enjoy as many happy, healthy years with us as possible.

Ask our veterinary team if you would like to learn more about dog aging research and ways to support your pet’s health at every age.

Because every year with our furry family members is special!

Dr. McCarthy cuddles a patient recovering from a procedure.

We keep a close eye on patients before, during and after all procedures, to ensure they have the best possible outcome. Our doctors are keen on good communication with clients, checking in and answering questions at drop off, checking back in during procedures when the unexpected occurs, and calling once procedures are done to let clients know how things went. We also provide verbal and written instructions for recovery at home.

Compassion. Integrity. Competence.
