May is coming up—and it’s Spay Month.

Spaying your dog or cat does more than prevent unwanted litters. It can reduce the risk of certain cancers and infections, and it often helps with behaviors like roaming, marking, and fighting. It’s one of the simplest ways to support long-term health and quality of life.

Our spay package includes the spay procedure, bloodwork, pre-anesthetic exam, pain management, and more to keep your pet safe and comfortable.

For the month of May, 15% off applies to the spay procedure.

Give us a call if you have questions or want more information.

Case of the Month – Equine Joint Health

This month, we’re highlighting Equine Joint Health and introducing Pro-Stride® as one of the equine joint care options now available at Rural Veterinary Practices.

Pro-Stride® APS is an advanced regenerative therapy that uses your horse’s own blood to create a concentrated solution of anti-inflammatory and healing proteins. It is designed to support joint health, reduce inflammation, and help improve comfort, mobility, and longevity.

From rope horses and barrel horses to ranch horses putting in long days, Pro-Stride® APS can be a great option for helping horses stay comfortable and doing their job.

Click the link to watch an informational video and learn more, or call us to see if Pro-Stride may be a good fit for your horse.

Take a guess… what do you think she weighs?

Tina Turner, the mini horse, came in for her first ever yearly check this week.

Vaccines and dental were straightforward. The weight check took a little creativity — she ended up on the dog scale (and fit better than expected). Ponies tend to hold weight easily, so routine care goes a long way in preventing bigger issues. Tina has been prescribed a grazing muzzle and a strict diet.

Small horse, same standards of care.

One week left to get in on our April equine discount.

Remember this? If you guessed double mid-piece or pointed out the s***m that looks like it has two tails you would be correct!

This abnormality was discovered during a routine Bull Breeding Soundness Evaluation!

Why is this important? Breeding Soundness exams are designed to find not only the infertile but the sub-fertile bulls. Sub-fertile bulls can cost you over $15,000 dollars per 100 head a year. Is that a risk your operation is willing to take.
