Memorial Day means more than just a long weekend — it’s a time to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸
As we spend time with family, friends, and the pets we love, we also pause to reflect on the sacrifices that made those moments possible.

🐾✨Say goodbye to the cone of shame… for many of our surgery patients!✨🐾
We’re excited to now offer VetMedWear recovery suits for post-surgical patients as an alternative to traditional e-collars! 💕 These soft, comfortable recovery suits help many pets feel less stressed while still protecting their incision sites during healing.

While recovery suits aren’t the right fit for every pet or every procedure, we’re happy to now have them available in a variety of sizes for many of our patients! 🐶🐱

✨ Big News from Treasured Pets Veterinary Hospital! ✨

We’re thrilled to announce that our team is growing! Please join us in giving a warm (and tail-wagging 🐾) welcome to our newest veterinarian, Dr. Chambers!

Dr. Chambers is a native Texan with a lifelong passion for animal care. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in 2008 before pursuing her veterinary degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2013.

Following veterinary school, Dr. Chambers completed a one-year internship in Arizona. During this time, she also met her husband. The two later relocated to Georgetown, Texas, before ultimately returning to the Dallas–Fort Worth area, where Dr. Chambers is proud to serve the community she has always called home.

Dr. Chambers is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to her patients and building lasting relationships with both pets and their families. Her professional interests include emergent/urgent medicine, and she is committed to staying current with advancements in veterinary medicine.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Chambers shares her life with her husband and their two energetic children. When she’s not spending time with her family, she can often be found in the gym. She has competed in five powerlifting competitions, most recently earning state records and has stepped into the world of bodybuilding. In addition, Dr. Chambers enjoys traveling and embraces opportunities to experience new cultures and adventures!

🦟❤️ April is Heartworm Awareness Month! ❤️🦟

Heartworm disease is a serious (but preventable!) condition that can affect both dogs and cats. The good news? With the right prevention and regular testing, your pet can stay safe and healthy all year long!

✔️ Heartworms are transmitted by mosquitos
✔️ Heartworms are preventable
✔️ Heartworms can be fatal if not prevented or treated

📌 Common symptoms of heartworms in dogs may include:
• Persistent cough
• Fatigue after mild activity
• Decreased appetite
• Weight loss
• In more severe cases: difficulty breathing or a swollen abdomen

📌 Important reminders for dog owners:
• Yearly heartworm testing is essential — even if your dog is on prevention
• If any doses of prevention are missed, it’s recommended to test within 6 months to ensure your pet is still protected
