K-9 Rocket faithfully served the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office from June 2017 until his retirement in October 2023. Throughout his distinguished career, Rocket exemplified courage, loyalty, and unwavering dedication, protecting his fellow deputies and the citizens of Kaufman County with honor.
Following his retirement, Rocket remained where he belonged with his handler, Deputy Kevin Shaw, and his family, enjoying the well-earned retirement he deserved after years of faithful service.
On July 22, 2026, K-9 Rocket's watch came to an end. Though his final patrol is over, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the partners he protected, and the community he served.
Today, we honor not only an exceptional police K-9, but also a trusted partner, a loyal friend, and a cherished member of the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office family. May we always remember Rocket's faithful service, his sacrifice, and the unconditional devotion he gave each and every day.
