Oh my goodness, last spring we made the big decision to switch our website over to WordPress and incorporate the Breeder Buddy System. If you have ever been to our website, you know, it is not a small website. I had wanted to move to WordPress, but my website is so large that the task felt daunting. For an additional fee of one-fifth of what I had been quoted five years ago, Kenny from Breeder Buddy handled the entire website migration while connecting it to the Breeder Buddy system. You do not need WordPress to use Breeder Buddy; it was simply something I had wanted to do for years.
I've been using Breeder Buddy since late July, and I am so glad I made the change.
One of the biggest benefits has been the experience it provides for our kitten families. Each family has its own portal with their kitten's information, pictures, and recommendations for everything they need before bringing their kitten home. There are links to the different payment options: Zelle, Venmo, Stripe. If you use stripe, the system automatically connects the payment to the kitten, records it, marks the kitten sold, etc.
On the back end that no one sees, Breeder Buddy is making my life easier. Waitlist, invoices, contracts, and records are all integrated into one system. I can easily upload records and even connect Wisdom Panel genetic testing results, although I haven't gotten around to that yet.
I'm particularly excited about the picture pedigree database. I've started importing our cats and connecting their pedigrees as we have new litters. While it will take time on my end to get all the cats' information into the system, once it is there, it will be an incredible, detailed photographic and documented record of our breeding.
I also want to say how much I have appreciated working with Kenny. Breeder Buddy originally started with dogs, but he genuinely wants to adapt the system to meet the needs of cat breeders. Whenever I suggest something to add or adjust to make the system more cat-friendly, he listens and adds it to his list of improvements.
Honestly, I wish I had more time to work with Kenny and explore everything the system can do. There is so much more I want to set up, but my lack of time has been my biggest limitation.
Anyone who knows me knows how I like things organized, and I can say I have never felt so organized in the behind-the-scenes work of managing the cattery as I do now that I am using Breeder Buddy. If you're considering Breeder Buddy, I would encourage you to take a look. I have been very pleased with both the system and the support Kenny provides. I think it has a lot to offer cat breeders, and I look forward to seeing how it continues to develop.
