Good Evening Pack,
Purrs and Playin’ Paws is hoping to hire for the following shifts starting (GOAL) Wednesday, September 9th, 2026.
2 “full time” walkers:
Person A *This might be me for awhile to keep as little disruption as possible for middays and so I can be awake and in control of staff start of day*
M, T, W, Th + Fri 6:00am-2:00pm (30 min scheduled meal break)
Person B:
M, T, W, Th + Fri 2:00pm-10:00pm (30 min scheduled break)
Sat and Sun
Person C:
6:00am-2:00pm(with meal break) BOTH DAYS
Person D: 2:00pm-10:00pm (with meal break) BOTH DAYS
Person E: 10:00pm-6:00am as needed for over night care!
These shifts ^ may or may not be booked straight through, which is why full time is in quotes. It is not 8 hours paid no matter what.
Same for the weekend shift.
Starting pay for all shifts is $15.00/hr + tips.
Official listings and job posting information is to be expected by early September.
Sunday Surcharge fee will go away once weekend shift person is hired.
This way there will be a consistent caregiver per time of day and day of week, at most the dogs and cats will know 4 different sitters (that’s if a client utilizes midday, irregular and vacation care options). If someone calls out, I go and do the visit, very simple.
I will be an administrative overseer and filling in when people call out or whatever. I’ll be doing all managing, billing, invoicing, inquiry answering and controlling schedules, conducting meet and greets and handling more difficult client conversations, training staff, marketing, document organization, legal compliance etc. Basically everything I do around visiting pets, AM, MID, DIN, PM + ON for past 3-4 years 🙂 .
A couple clients have voiced being concerned about overnights being removed:
1. I am hoping to offer later night times and earlier morning visits by utilizing two people instead of me setting an alarm to only sleep 8-9 hours in between.
2. I may not take them away, but the base price will be MORE THAN $135.00/night and it’ll be one price no matter how many pets. The company will probably make very little money on overnights after paying out staff their hourly wage. Unless I do them, which I might.
It costs me HUNDREDS per employee to onboard and also monthly to keep ! Thats what the general operation fee is helping the company prepare for.
Currently the company is at a volume that keeps ME and me alone very busy, it will need 2-3x the clientele (once all employees are trained and stable and invested) to continue.
I have done this on my own for as long as my body would hold up but becuse I see myself struggling with keeping up with computer work and my body being more tired and painful and my brain being exhausted, I’m going to hire help in the coming months. PLEASE, all clients, communicate with me IMMEDIATELY if you feel a hired pet sitter is behaving incorrectly in anyway.
Thanks all,
Leah J.
