Just like Artemis here, who has flopped out for her mid afternoon nap, we are exhausted. We have about $400 left in our bank account and we have about $5,000 in bills to cover. At this point, I’m looking for another side job (I’m already working a side gig but it’s not paying enough) and we’ve been getting refusal after refusal for all our grant applications from the last few months. I’m so far beyond tired and I don’t even know what to do anymore about our financial state. We are all trying our best to hang in there but the exhaustion is quickly catching up to us.

Please support our amazing business neighbor as they welcome the newest member of their family into the world!

Kensie’s sweet baby boy has arrived a little earlier than expected at just 28 weeks. While this journey is beginning differently than anyone imagined, we are incredibly thankful that both Mom and baby are doing as well as can be expected.

Their little one will be spending the next 9–12 weeks in the hospital, growing stronger each day, and there is a long road ahead as they navigate the challenges and uncertainties of the NICU. Through it all, they are surrounded by so much love, support, and hope.

To help ease some of the day-to-day burdens and allow Kensie and her family to spend as much time as possible at OHSU with their precious baby, friends have organized a meal train. Any contribution—whether a meal, gift card, prayer, or kind thought—is greatly appreciated.

Kensie, we love you so much and are holding your family close in our hearts. We are grateful for this beautiful little life, and we cannot wait to watch this tiny fighter grow stronger and for everyone to meet this sweet bundle when the time is right. 💕👶🏻✨

We have the first round of medical bills this next week when the junkyard crew (Scrap Metal, Nuts and Bolts) get neutered. This means that we have about $5,000 in bills to cover this month. We are still waiting on the payout from some recent fundraising events so we’re really hoping those did well for us. Unfortunately our chipotle fundraiser didn’t do as well as we’d hoped it would do and neither did our wicked wine run fundraiser. We are working on some grant applications but we have already gotten some denial letters from some grants we previously applied to. At this point, I’m looking at remote jobs that I could do on the side and I’m already working a second job part time to help cover the bills so please rest assured that we ARE trying to make things work financially aside from asking for donations.
We would like to send a thank you to those who have already donated, signed up as a monthly donor or sent/donated supplies either from our wishlist or otherwise. We appreciate each and every one of our donors more than words can convey. We’d also like to thank everyone who shares our posts, tells others about our rescue and lets others know about us. We love you and appreciate all of you and we want you to know that it brings us so much joy to see others also caring about the kitties and working to support them 💜

Join us tonight at Chipotle in Cornelius! All you have to do is show them this post/flyer or mention that you are there to support Paws and Pumpkins Rescue for them to donate 25% of your purchase to our rescue!
If you are ordering online, for it to contribute to our fundraiser, you must order online the Chipotle app or website (no third party apps like DoorDash, Uber Eats, etc) and enter our custom code. We have included flyers in this post that explain the online ordering process if that’s what you prefer.
The fundraiser hours are from 5-9pm so orders made outside these hours will NOT contribute to the fundraiser.

We have been working on a project behind the scenes here since we got to this Forest Grove location and we are finally ready to share it with you!
Starting next month, on July 19th, we will have our first ever FREE Community Pet Food Closet opening. Please read ALL the details first so everything runs smoothly!
RULES:
🐾 Only one household per day can come collect supplies. This is to ensure that there’s enough for everyone so don’t be greedy!
🐾 We will be collecting some basic information from everyone who collects supplies so please be prepared to provide that. This IS required to collect supplies and we will only ever use the info for our own records.
🐾 You must come pick up the supplies, we will not be delivering anything. Unfortunately we don’t have the ability to deliver but we hope to expand this service to get there in the future!
🐾 Primarily for cats but we MAY have dog supplies too, it depends on what we have each month.
🐾THIS IS FOR PET OWNERS ONLY!!! While we absolutely understand the desire to get free food to feed strays, this is intended for families under financial stress that need help keeping their pets fed. We are hoping to open up a feral cat supply closet later on but for now, you can talk to us about signing up as a TNR volunteer if you want food to feed feral cats.
🐾 FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE!!! We will NOT be reserving supplies or holding anything for people. We will have supplies available during the business day, from 11am-4pm while we are open OR until supplies run out.
🐾What supplies are offered? Primarily cat food, both wet and dry. If your pet has a specific allergy or diet they need to follow, please let us know so we can see if we are able to cater to your pets needs. Aside from food, we may have some over the counter supplements, small toys and other supplies. We will have a Google Form for all recipients to fill out before collecting supplies so you’ll be able to tell us what you’d like to see more of in the future as well!

We know times are tough and we want to help where we can. This community pet food closet will be completely free to the public. Donations are optional but greatly appreciated!

Don’t worry, I got her out BEFORE I put up the lattice (obviously). Clementine decided to go for a bit of an adventure today while I was cleaning the storage room. Clementine knows she’s not allowed in here specifically because she always aims right for the hole in the back wall but she must’ve snuck in underneath me at one point when I was going back and forth for cleaning. The hole is semi-covered by our large food tubs and I didn’t think she was able to access this spot without knocking over the tubs but I was clearly wrong about that. I was actually about to put the lattice cover over the hole when I realized…I hadn’t seen Clementine in a while and I just har a sneaking suspicion that I should get eyes on her before I cover the hole. It’s a damn good thing I did too, otherwise she would’ve been stuck in there. Luckily she is easily bribed with treats but I did still have to drag her out since she was not interested in helping me on her rescue mission.
At least she proved me right in my assumption that I need to cover up the hole before one of the cats jumps in 😅

Clove has found her people and she is off to new adventures in her new home! Clove is such a sweet little playful girl and I know she’ll do great in her new home!
