As you may have seen in our last post, our green ghostie laid her last ooth with us but with sadness, comes excitement.

We have brand new adult ghost mantis. The darkness in this girl is UNREAL. I just stare in awe at the picturesque patterns, even though pictures do not do this girl justice.

We are also looking for name suggestions, so drop some ideas below!!! We do not have a theme so be creative!🤔🤩

Our sweet ghost girl lived her best life with us. She loved to watch and explore. You may recognize her if you have seen us at some recent reptile shows. She showed so many people how amazing it is to own a mantis.

She also gave us 4 ooths as well so if you liked this sweet girl, her babies will be on the market soon. She also gave us a parting gift and laid one last ooth before passing.

It’s is really sad that she has died, but it is bittersweet to be able to look up close to the details. Seeing how intricate the patterns on the legs really makes you appreciate what nature has created.

Thank you for being such a fascinating and inquisitive little creature💕

This mantis is the reason why we don’t always know how bugs survive, but sometimes they just do. When 2 klutzy people are responsible for feeding/watering over 200 mantids, cups sometimes get accidentally tipped and this guy was an unfortunate victim to the klutziness.

Story time: I was cleaning up around the house and was emptying a box of deli cups sitting around and saw a cup that I immediately knew was from a spillage 2 WEEKS PRIOR. I just had a sad feeling that the little guy inside unfortunately did not make.

BUT I WAS WRONG.

I opened the cup and the mantis JUMPED straight at me. I was speechless! So of course, after some water and food, our new friend is still doing great🩵

⚡️💡Isopod Spotlight💡⚡️
🪲The Magic Potion Isopod is definitely an eye catcher! The vibrate yellow is so eye catching, you have to stop and stare.
⛰️Armadillidum isopods are on the more forgiving end when it comes to care. These guys are great in bioactive enclosures where temperature and humidity may fluctuate. As long as your enclosure is between 65-80 F and 50% humidity, these beautiful buggers will do great!
💪🏼They do not require as much protein as a Dairy Cow, but they would appreciate a little fish food or dried fish from time to time! The Armadillidum species feed primarily on leaf litter and decaying wood, but if you’re looking to spice up their diet, Repashy Morningwood is a great supplement.
🌲For their enclosures, keeping that ⅓ wet to dry moisture gradient is crucial. A dry isopod is a dead isopod, so making sure they have a corner of sphagnum moss is a great choice.
What’s your favorite species of isopod?

🦎✨ GECKO SPOTLIGHT✨🦎

One of the coolest things about the New Caledonian Giant Gecko (Leachianus) is its incredible feet! 👣

Their toes are equipped with tiny sticky structures called setae. They also have lamellae, which are the rows of specialized scales underneath their toes that help create even more surface contact.

Leachianus geckos are excellent climbers and use their specialized toes to navigate the branches, bark, and foliage of their natural habitat. 🌿

I feel like I’m always saying that the show we do is “one for the books,” but honestly… they all are. ❤️

Today was a true full-circle moment for me. We got to attend a show run by the very people I used to watch religiously, soaking up every bit of information I could to make sure I was doing right by my reptiles.

Over the years, I’ve learned so much through this crazy, incredible world of reptiles, and getting to stand on the other side of that today was such an amazing feeling. 🥹

And honestly, the support we continue to receive from all of you—our amazing supporters, customers, friends, and even those who simply follow along and listen—means more than I can put into words.

Today was a good day. A really, really good day. 🖤🐍🦎

Here’s to the full-circle moments and everything still to come! Who or what got you into reptile/invertebrates/all of the above?
