🐾 Two Purposes. One Incredible Dog. An Even Greater Impact. 🐾
Did you know Partners with Paws offers Dual Purpose Facility Dogs?
We currently have successful dogs working within school systems who serve as both highly trained facility dogs AND detection dogs!
💙 Facility Dog Work: Our dogs are trained to support students through a variety of specialized tasks designed to help with emotional regulation, anxiety, and overall well-being. These tasks include deep pressure therapy (DPT), tactile stimulation, anxiety response tasks, and other techniques that help students navigate challenging moments throughout their school day.
🐕 Detection Work: Through our partnership with our friends at Steinig Tal K9 Police Academy, these dogs undergo additional specialized training for dual purpose work, including drug and/or fi***rm detection.
By combining these two roles, we’re able to provide schools with dogs who not only offer comfort to students but also contribute to a safer school environment.
We have seen incredible success with our Dual Purpose Facility Dogs and are so excited to continue growing this part of our mission!
🎉 We are hoping to place our 20th facility dog by the end of 2026! This is a milestone we are incredibly proud to be approaching, and we couldn’t do it without the schools, handlers, trainers, and supporters who believe in what these dogs can accomplish.
